Dear Ladies,

Yesterday I made my HSG and it showed two fallopian tubes blocked near the uterus. But actually the HSG was made on my 26th day of the cycle. Do you have any idea why this procedure should be done in the beggining of the cycle as well as I was wondering if the result could be wrong? (I mean may be I made a spasm of fallopean tubes during the procedure). Do you have any idea what should be the next step? My doctor says - IVF, but I think that fallopean cannulation is maybe better than the IVF in this case.
Also I would like kindly to ask you for some contacts of good specialists in New York. I'm from Europe, but I am planning to travel in the USA in October. Please, help me with your advice. Also if you could just orient me how much could be cost general check-up in a private hospital or clinic.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
Best regards

i had the same thing and it was detected thru an ultrasound...there is really no meds for that...i think the only option is surgery...which is what i have just been thru...the doc told me that it could have been treated with pain meds cause its was in no danger of busting or anything, but surgery is the best option. it takes care of the prob all together

I visited a doctor after trying for a baby for over 3years the doctor advised that he should do laparoscopic studies to see if my tubes were functioning well. The process was done 4 days ago and the doctor told me that I had scars inside the tubes, the ends were blocked and swollen He said that he pushed dye into my tubes (by force) and a little dye went through on both tubes (he emphasised that a little). He then said that I should wait for 3months maybe I will conceive depending on the lining of my tubes if I still have a good tube lining it might work and if it fails he advised that I should consider IVF.
My questions are as follows:
-Do you think there is any hope for me since a little dye went through on both tubes?
-Is there any other way of enhancing my chances of conception because there are no doctors or centres in my country that do IVF it means that I have to travel to a neighbouring country for the process
-Did the doctor open the tubes or he just pushed dye by force and they partially opened are there any chances of them closing again soon after the process?

Hello
I had my left fallopian tube blocked my gyn schedule a Laporoscopy is and outpatien surgery.  what they do is unblock the area and if you have cyst they will remove them also scar tissue that was my problem about 9 years ago I couldn't get pregnant and that was the reason, after i had the surgery I had 2 pregnancies with no problems. I was fine and there is no symptoms but I always had very painfull periods to the point I couldn't get up from bed now is different.  Good luck  I belive is call endiometriosis.  I hope this will help.

An HSG test can be done that uses dye injected into the tubes, but it is not surgical. It's done with a cathedar thru the cervix. Laproscopy can be done, but it uses a scope, not dye.

If your tube was blocked, it may not have any symptoms.  You may have pain, but could be associated with normal cycle pain.  The only way to know if its blocked is to have a laproscopic surgery and have dye pushed through your tubes.  If they are blocked the dye wouldn't get through.  If you have having problems getting pregnant, so see a specialist and ask some questions.  Good Luck!
