Large ovarian cyst and tachycardia, related?
My health history is complicated but in a nutshell, I had gastric bypass surgery nine months ago and I've lost eighty pounds. Still a little over weight but not more than thirty pounds.
7 months ago I started experiencing blood pressure drops and blacking out when I stand up. I fainted once, briefly. Also, intense fatigue. My potassium level was found to be low as well.
Then, around 2 months ago I started experiencing episodes of my heart racing, chest pain, and shortness of breath.
I've had an echocardiogram, EKG, thalium test all normal.
I've had multiple tests done to see if there was a problem with my adrenal glands. Nothing there.
MRI on my brain. That too looked fine.
I have, however, been diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst on my left ovary. Apparently there are other cysts around it (like it's own little solar system?) and a small cyst on my right kidney.
I'm thirty nine years old and I had a partial hysterectomy almost five years ago. I had a large fibroid then.
My main question is this: Is there a connection between this cyst (it's as large as a grapefruit and has septation in it) and the fatigue, tachycardia, blood pressure dropping upon standing, and low potassium? My ob/gyn's assistant thought this mass could be resting on a blood vessel but my ob/gyn thinks it's unlikely. I'm having surgery to remove the cyst next week and, of course, it will be biopsied.
Currently I'm researching info on autonomic nervous system disorders. If my blood pressure/heart rate issues aren't resolved with this surgery, my next step is to see a neurologist.

Did this get resolved with surgery? Im experiencing the same thing now and its terrifying. the heart symptoms are unmanagebale.
The blood pressure drops are most likely causing your heart racing I had the same thing bring it up to your cardiologist

I've had a cardiac ayrhthmia over many years and an occasional ovarian cyst, but there is no connection. It sounds like what you have is PCOS, but I have never read that even with that, there is a link to heart issues. Good luck next week!
