The best time to try is during ovulation. If you're not sure when that comes there are all sorts of ways to test. You can go by the thick milky discharge, buy an ovulation kit, test your body temperature.. You can ask your doctor for the best referance.
If your serious about conceiving then you need to see a family planner asap. They will set you up with everything you need.
Organize hospitals, doctors, types of insurance, midwives, (you should start taking prenatals since you're planning), you can start collecting baby items, setting up a nursery, change your diet, read parenting books, (get married), establish a home, financial security... There are lots of things to think about before *trying* to get pregnant. Yeah getting pregnant, and having a baby are beautiful things, but they arnt as beautiful if you're not properly prepared.
I dont know your situation, but I would advise you to see a family planner before setting out to get pregnant..
It hasn't even been a full year yet, so there's not really any reason for worry. It just takes awhile.
I totally agree with ^^^the above posters. My husband and I tried for over 6 months before we finally got a positive. I was really starting to wonder and worry. Then FINALLY it was positive and I couldn't hardly believe it. A year is usually the mark for when a doc says you need to worry. That doesn't stop us ladies from totally freaking much sooner though. And FYI.. After I did finally get pregnant and have my daughter, I was suddenly VERY fertile and got pregnant 5 more times in the next six years. (Had one missed miscarriage) and a total of 5 beautiful children just about 18 to 20 months apart. My nickname was Fertile Myrtle. So try to worry too much just yet. And follow Jenni's advice about the family planning, prenatal vitamins and doctor visits, etc.. Good advice and it will keep you busy working in a positive directon towards getting your family started.
We went through it also. Best advice....RELAX. I didn't believe it when everyone kept telling me that. It worked! I stopped worrying about it and kept myself busy. Within a month I was pregnant. I am sure when your body and mind are relaxed and stress free you'll get some positive results. Good luck!:)
