Can We Be Saved & Still Go To Heaven?
I hear people all the time say once we are saved we are always saved & that we can still go to heaven despite my lifestyle! It's because of his grace & mercy that I'm able to go to heaven! Or they might say I've accepted Christ as my personal Lord n Saviour & that's all that I need!
But what does the bible say about it?

Once you are saved that means you understand what God ecspects of you. You can not just be saved and then live how you want, sinning. You still have to live by God and make decisions the way God would want you to. We all will make mistakes now and then and will be forgiven. But only you and God know if you are living right.
I believe there is no heaven.However human race has a capability to make this earth a heaven.Help oppressed people.Talk against injustice .Always be kind to others.I believe this is true devotion to humanity and God.This can make our life and world a beautiful place to live in.
I think that Saul and David says a lot about once saved always saved and God's role in all of this...
David was far from being perfect. In fact, some would argue that David's later moral lapses were much more serious than Saul's sins. Yet, the Lord rejected Saul but forgave even David's worst mistakes, allowing him to continue being king. What was the difference? The difference is God is in the heart business! He not only reads the heart - the center of thought, inner attitudes, and motives - but He can touch and change hearts that are open to Him. David's heart yields to the conviction of sin. He repented and he patiently accepted the consequences of his sins. In contrast, whatever outward confessions Saul made, it was clear that his heart was not surrendered to the Lord. Yet the Lord, having placed on Saul the responsibility of the kingdom, did not leave him to himself. He caused the Holy Spirit to rest upon Saul to reveal to him his own weakness and his need of divine grace; and had Saul relied upon God, God would have been with him. So long as his will was controlled by the will of God, so long as he yielded to the discipline of His Spirit, God could crown his efforts with success. But when Saul chose to act independently of God, the Lord could no longer be his guide, and was forced to set him aside.
So there we have it God doesn't want us to be lost. He tries everything he can to reach us, but it comes down to our choice. How do you help someone who doesn't want to be helped?

I'll disagree and agree...presumption is sin, Mat 4.7; Heb 10.31, and a sovereign God has the right, nay the duty to judge. I also believe presumption is a form of rebellion. However, at the risk of hijacking this thread, I disagree with the stated position of lost salvation regardless of the initiator.
What righteous God would throw away his child, John1.12-13; Heb 2.11? If we argue from this position, all of the references and parallels to the Father or a parent-child relationship become null. It also implies the redemption was of very low value. How many of us have redeemed the worthless from a pawn shop? If we are able to "let go" of Him, then what about the verses concerning longsuffering (2 Pe 3.9), care (too many), or keeping (1 Pe 1.4-6) of us? John 10 speaks directly about the Shepherd and Mat 18.12-14 the one that will wander away. [I am not citing in full just enough so you can follow the logic I'm writing.]
Here's where the possible hijacking comes in...The issue of backsliding or continual living in sin is answered in many places in scripture concerning hearing-doing, Mat 7.24-27; Luke 8.21; John 8.43; Rom 10.18-21; Heb 11.6; Jms 1.22. We must hear and follow it with do. Mat 7.21-23 is about lack of relationship. The key is found in Jesus' response..."I never knew you." Are they not saved or not doers or both? Other verses are not concerning eternal security but rather overcoming in this life and our accountability for what was entrusted to us, 1 Cor 9.24-27. Yes, I mean we will not all have the same reward during His reign and possibly eternity. [I have not completed the eternal side of the study, but this is where it sits today.] The verses concerning victory, overcoming, reigning, reward, faithfulness, talents, etc. come into full expression.
I'll follow this up with a concern. The "gospel" peddlers proclaim various forms of easy believism. That is the full Gospel or the full message is not being preached. [Notice I did not exclude myself. I am currently working to correct this issue.] Take a look at Acts and the way the Disciples are preaching. We ask...Do you believe? The devils believe, Jms 2.19, and tremble. Which leads to another area to be examined. We are not teaching Godly fear and awe. As the result, people do not consider it a big deal to stand in judgement before a righteous & holy God, Heb 10.31.

Amen April! Well said too many people are caught up in this grace thing & mercy thing! Yes we know GOD is both of those but if willingly do wrong in his eyes we are surely subject to his wrath! A man @ my job told me that if Christians think like that then we've automatically failed;(
We should never take advantage of God's grace and mercy. I hear all the time of people who go to church on Sundays and leave God there. We need to take God with us everywhere we go. He is always with us. When we take His grace for granted, we shame the cross and what Christ went through for us. We should always be eternally grateful to Him and the tremendous sacrifice He made for us. We are not to grieve the Holy Spirit with our behavior. We should pray constantly for God to keep our hearts soft towards Him.

Like u said what good is it to accept Christ & do what we still want to do!! Then freewill is worthless the church is in danger of becoming double minded! & it is also evident in these last days good post;)
The concept that once you’re saved you cannot be lost is very unbiblical. I can cite you several examples in the Bible of people who had a saved relationship—they were spirit-filled—and for whatever reason they turned from the Lord, they backslid. Peter puts it this way, as the pig who is washed, they return to wallowing in the mire. King Saul was chosen by the Lord, anointed, filled with the Spirit, but he became proud and grieved away the Holy Spirit and took his own life. Even Judas was sent out preaching with the other eleven apostles but he kept clinging to that sin of covetousness until he denied the Lord and sold Him, and Judas lost his salvation, he lost his relationship with the Lord. So there are a number of examples in the Bible. But on the other extreme, some people think that you need to walk every day in doubt of your relationship with the Lord. And the Bible is very clear that we can have an assurance of our relationship with Him. The Bible says we can know that He who has begun a good work in us will perform unto the day of Christ Jesus; He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, that we might know that we have everlasting life.
So though it is untrue that once a person is saved he cannot be lost—let me use Ezekiel 18:24: But when the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, (and this is talking about a saved man) and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die. In other words, a person who was righteous can turn away and they’ll be lost. Hebrews 10:23, 24, 26, Paul says: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. (Once a person is saved, why would they need to hold fast?)
Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works, for if we sin willfully (this is verse 26) if we sin willfully after we have received a knowledge of the truth there remains no more sacrifice for sins but a certain fearful looking forward to of judgment. The Bible doesn’t tell us once we’re saved that we turn from all responsibility of continuing to hold onto God’s hand. Now Jesus will never let go of us, but we can let go of Him.
The danger of the teaching that once you’re saved you can’t be lost, takes away our free will. We’re always free to choose to love the Lord. God does not take away our freedom once we accept Him. Here’s another example: I Corinthians 9:24-27 Christian, know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air; But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: (he says he fights this fight of faith) lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. In other words, Paul is saying that it was possible, even though he had this spirit-filled saved relationship, to be cast away. That’s why Jesus said, Not everyone that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but they that do the will of my Father in heaven.
Jesus goes on to say, Many will come in that day saying, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name cast out devils, and in your name done many wonderful works, and He will profess to those people, I don’t know you. So that’s one side of the issue. The other side of the issue is that God does not want us to live in fear. Jesus said: Perfect love casts out fear. He said that we can know that we have eternal life. We can know as long as we abide in Him we have nothing to be afraid of. It’s when we take our hand out of His hand and we choose to turn from His will and go our own way. But as long as we, every day, are placing our lives in the hands of the Almighty we don’t have to live in fear and doubt. God does not want us to have that kind of experience. Now I do believe that it’s important for us to daily rededicate our lives. That doesn’t mean you’re lost every day. Paul said; I die daily. What he meant by that was “I choose every day to say no to living for myself, to die to self, and be born again unto God.” On a daily basis we rededicate ourselves to God. It doesn’t mean you’re lost and saved, and lost and saved, and lost and saved, like a roller coaster. You know how Jesus said, Give us this day or daily bread? We as Christians live on a basis of daily trusting the Lord.
