What is kind of fun to do it to take photographs of someone or an animal or get an image from the net. Then proceed to one of the on-line programs that turn a photo into a line drawing. There are several.

Print. Then darken with sharpie where you want. Enlarge or change size on copier.

Then use a light-box to trace them on art board.. I like to use #2 sharp pencil.

Then india ink the pencil lines and change as desired.

Clean drawing with powdered rubber in bag removing pencil.

Spray with art preservative.

Frame for gift.

O Ive seen this many times on DA I started it once its a great way to get the creative jucies flowing before starting on a bigger project. OR even just to over come artist block

I got up to six, but I should be so far ahead. I had a lot to do and was a way from home so it was impossible to draw during that time.
