Seven-month progress report & outreach

I have now had GM for almost seven months. I take 5 mg of prednisolone daily and I've eliminated gluten from my plant-based diet. I no longer take pain medications, but I do have new lesions and the old lesions have solidified and remain. I still would like a mastectomy, but my doctors advice me to let it "burn out." I'm giving it six more months.

I've recovered emotionally, and I even see a silver lining. Having GM has been the kick in the pants I needed to finally pursue my lifelong dream of being a writer. I've started a blog that chronicles my experiences with GM. I would love to hear from the other ladies in this forum.

How are you doing? How long have you had GM? What treatment has worked? Who has had a mastectomy? How did it go with the mastectomy?

I hope that all of us will soon heal and that we can reclaim our lives and our bodies. Thank you for sharing your stories. It always helps to read personal accounts of living with GM.

Feel free to contact me here or through my GM blog.

I have had Gm for 12 months now, it seems a little bit better, but not going away.
I have had another flare up last month when I got my period, but now my lumps don't turn into abscesses, they just get red and then they go away, leaving a brownish spot in my skin. Not sure what causes that, but is much better than wounds or having open abscesses.
Pain stills there, it comes and goes, same for my joints pain it comes and goes depending on the amount of lumps and the size of them I am getting in the flare up.
I am under no medication, and I will try Aloe Vera for sure.
Thanks!

Hi!

I recovered from IGM. I had the flare ups, bursts, and wounds for 14 months. I was thinking about a mastectomy because I did not see an end to all the pain and suffering I was going through. I was on prednisolone for 20 weeks, starting at 80 mg for 2 week, then tapering off...I was exhausted. I changed my diet a little after researching anit-immflamation foods. I drink aloe vera and pommagranite concentrate a few times a week. This helped...a lot. I have been abcess from for 9 months, feel amazing. And I still have my breast!

It may not seem like it, but there is hope. I recovered fully, and you may too. Be strong, be positive!
