young and worried

.Hi people! My name is Patricia and I´m 19 years old.A couple of months ago I went to the doctor for an ear infection and vertigo.I followed the treatment of the doctor (antibiotics and paracetamol) and I was ok.But here goes the bad thing...I started with muscular cramping/twitching and weakness in my 4 limbs. In the night,I have troubles sleeping because I almost wake up every hour and I get lots of nausea in the morning. All that stuff in less of 4 months!I went to another general doctor and he tested in the habital way
*my heart
*my reflexes (I got no Babinski or Hoffmann signs)
*my respiratory system
and everything was ok.the doctor told me that probably I have just anxiety...But I´m not very sure. The muscular weakness is still iwth me.I´m just 19 and I have a very strong fear of the MS and the ALS,even if I don´t have familiar history. Thanks for your time

I just want to let everyone know that there are no typical symptoms for MS. Ms can cause a wide range of symptoms depending on where the lesions are developing. These do include nausea. There is no proof that toxxins are the cause of ms and no evidence so far leading in that direction from the main scientific community. Want2bike again please stop hijacking people's threads for your own purposes.

Welcome to the forum.
I wish you the best in your search for answers.  I too assumed the symptoms sounded like pregnancy.  I had all of these types of feelings when I was pregnant both times.

I do know my MS still does not effect all 4 limbs in the same way.
I would check out the vitamin b12 possibilities and the other suggestions above.

Hope all is well very soon

want2bike is absolutely correct--no one can tell you what you have here on the forum because we don't have the expertise.  However, there's a lot of people on the forum that can help with questions to ask your physician or to point you in the right direction because of their own experiences or from what they've read when they did some research.

From what I've read and know about MS, it doesn't sound like that is what you have.  Hopefully you can rest your mind about that.  Typically, MS doesn't present itself this way.  More than likely with MS, you will not have all four of your limbs effected at once.  Typically, MS doesn't cause nausea that you are describing either.

I don't want to offend you . . . but I assume pregnancy was ruled out.  The reason I mention that is because of the morning nausea.  Also, I know when I was pregnant I had some dizziness and cramping in my muscles.  Some other plausible explanation is a hormonal problem (like thyroid problems), an ongoing infection, etc.  Plus, a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause neurological symptoms like what you've mentioned.

I would go back to the doctor and let him/her know that you're still experiencing these problems.  You know your body and know things aren't right.  I would just tell your doctor that you don't think it's anxiety and ask him/her what else could be causing your symptoms besides this.  It sounds like some lab workup wouldn't be a bad idea.

No one here can tell you if you have MS.  Your doctor will need to run alot of test to determine this.  You have sympthoms related to MS but these sympthoms also occur in other conditions such as mercury posioning.  Your body could have too many toxins in it and it is making you sick.
