Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) is characterized by progressive problems with movement (ataxia), tremor, memory loss, loss of sensation in the lower extremities (peripheral neuropathy), and mental and behavioral changes. We recommmend that your family meet with a neurologist.
Yes, the tremor could be from fxtas. I'm not a doctor, but my husband has had FXTAS for over 10 years, so I'm pretty familiar with it.

I am a carrier of fragile X with 110 CGG repeats. My father has fxtas. Could being a carrier be the cause of a task specific tremor?
