was on methadone
thank you for starting this community, i am no longer on methadone but i spent many year going to clinics and will be around if anyone has any methadone detox questions
I've been an on off opiate user for 10 years, i've been on off the methadone, buprenorphine and subuxone. On my 3rd week of detox almost (and im quittin the methadone). Im doin cold turkey at home and i highly agree its not everyones cup of tea, check into rehab see a counsellor.

If I were you I would go in a inhouse program from what I have heard it pure He!! coming off methadone...Talked to lots ppl...Keep us posted
I've be on methadone for 16+ years and have been detoxing now for about 3 yrs.originally on a 80 mgs. and have been successful going down, but when I hit 35 I feel panicky. I also take 1 - 1mg(blue) of Xanax. How long should I wait now that I'm on a lower dose?I'd ask the dr. at my program, but his mission is to keep people ON the program, not off. I'm naturally a nervous person, so I've been trying to go slow. What do I have to look forward to when I go lower & lower. I've been hearing about loss of sleep, which I rarely get any now. Should I go inpatient in a hospital when I get down to 20 mgs? (N.J. has rule they won't put you in until 20 mgs. How long did it take you? When did you finally get sleep?
