Hii dear,,I would be relaxed to hear from u about ur son,, i hope he is doing fantastic in 2022,, my son doing almost same so im concerned plz reply back me. Thanks
I this it's a normal activity. nothing to worry about.
Js888 what ever happened with your son, did he out grow these issues? My skin is doing the exact things and I'm worried sick!
My son is 14 months and he has met all his milestones up to now. At our 14 month check up my Dr noticed that my son had knocked over his stroller and was playing with the wheels, she thought that was odd. She was also concerned because he dosen't point or use gestures. She referred us to early prevention center and when they called me back they said it didn't sounds like there was a real problem yet. but to keep and eye out, they said that if they are spinning wheels for hours on end then maybe it's a red flag but my son also walks away after about 5 mins. Of course my husband and I scoured the internet looking at possible signs of autism and made our selves sick. With that being said I needed to stop worring and try to enjoy the little one. So what if he likes wheels if at 18 months he still isn't gesturing then maybe it's time to re-evaluate the situation. Your son sounds like mine and I have been worried sick. I have heard and read from sooo many other moms of boys that when they were small they loved wheels....and the gesturing could just come at their own time
I just wanted to say that the information on the internet is worrisome when you are already worried. Once you have a diagnosis, then it becomes more useful. My son was diagnosed with Sensory integration disorder (SID) at 4. Before that, I would look things up and almost have a panic attack. Now I look up things and get answers. That is the difference. That probably doesn't help. But what you say rings a bell. I was scared in the begining and reading about what was going on on the internet fed into it. Once I had a plan and direction, I needed the internet to help me get there.
FYI----- I have two boys 15 months apart. One has sensory integration disorder which is a developmental delay involving the nervous system and it's messaging ability and my other son has no delay. They did and do many of the EXACT same things. There are no absolutes and it usually isn't any one thing that indicates a delay. It is a consistent pattern of different things that can't be ignored after awhile. And my son, once his delay was identified, is doing fantastic. It is NOT the end of the world if a delay is present.
Good luck!!
Thanks all.. yes definitely reading all of the information in the internet almost make me crazy of worrying:) by the way, Zamorana, what is SID? Never heard about it before...
My son is 11 months and I am worried sick that he has autism...but you know...if the darn internet did not exist I would not be researching all the symptoms and signs and would not be spedning time analysing my son instyead of playing with him. Yes we should be mindful and aware of anything that may be a red flag but there is a limit. Niow I can write this but I can't seem to practice what I preach. Mom are a nervous wreck when it comes to their kids.
correction, im pretty sure uts not autism
one more thing
honestly I think all this aware thing is making moms go through hell. now when i look back at times i spent with my son, i notice that i didnt really enjoyed him, i was worried most of the times.
I spent most of my time with him, observing him and everytime he would something weird i would be reminded of autism. Now im pretty sure it's autism.I thing ppl should slow down this awareness thing, they're king of over doing it.
if a child doesn't answer when u call his name it doesn't mean he is on the spectrum, many kids do that, coz they're busy or just are tired of his parents calling them all the time.
if all the things we read on the net are tru
Hey don't worry about ur son, Im not an expesct but been through a lot regarding autism so I have a good experience. as u describe ur son, he seems pretty normal to his age. My son used to love spinning wheels and would do that for a long period of time now he is 26 months and still does that but for shorter time. I got him checked out several times, and almst all the doctors told me to stop researching the net coz my son is normal. As long as the child answers his name and interacts with his parents, and have good eye contact than it's not autism. It could be SID though, look it up, check the symptoms.
so it is normal? What a relieved! Thank you so much!!
hes a boy boys like to do thing like that
