Hi and firstly, I'm sorry you're facing troubles. Actually I had to google what a “bulky uterus” was. I’ve never seen that term before. If there is not an underlying medical condition such as fibroids, then having a larger than average uterus is likely not a problem. Also, people get pregnant with fibroids all the time. If you're actively attempting pregnancy for a year (you're charting cycles, using opks, having sex during ovulation times) and still not pregnant then it's time to seek help from a medical professional for next steps. As I've told I'm not in the case myself. But the sooner the reasons are found, the better. On the whole, from what I've read, ladies do fall prego with bulky uterus! The best of luck!

Hi there,
My name is Jennifer & Ive had a host of gynae challenges over my life from the age of 11.  I have endometriosis, endosalpingiosis, insulin resistance as well as PCOS.  Im now 40yrs old and was told along the way that falling pregnant whilst not impossible would prove challenging.  I have a bulky uterus and when initially examined, they gynea suggested it was like that of a woman who was 3months pregnant.

Ive never been pregnant until now.  I am newly married to the most wonderful man and carrying a gift that I truly thought was beyond my wildest dreams.  Ive just had my Nuchal Translucency tests today & was well under the range of normal which is fantastic.

Dont loose hope.  Get yourself along to a specialist who recognises more challenging issues.  I am under a Professor who has been the most delightful, caring & patient man.  Rest assured it will happen.

Keep your exercise up, weight down & your diet in tact.  Eat your protein first, veges second & if enough room carbs.

I wish you well in your quest & hope that one day soon that you too will experience the joys & wonderous facets of pregnancy.

Good luck xxx

Isn't bulky uterus a way to describe a uterus that has had its smooth muscle invaded to some extent by endometriosis?   If so, this would suggest that you wouldn't necessarily have more trouble than the next 38-year-old in getting pregnant, but you might have some trouble during pregnancy caused by the endometrium being in the uterine muscle, and would probably need to be advised and monitored by a high-risk ob-gyn.  It sounds like your next step would be to see a perinatologist and talk over the whole situation.
