Yes, what was said about the antidepressants is correct, because it has been learned at seratonin levels are involved with our migraines.
Well, I have Fibromyalgia in addition to the migraines. Not a big surprise there really, since that is one of the major symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Not everyone born with migraine disorder will have Fibromyalgia, but as I've gotten older, it was confirmed that I do. I mentioned this, because I learned about a supplement called 5-HTP on the Fibromyalgia forum. I later learned that this is used for depression and anxiety and one should not take it if using a prescription antidepressant or an anxiety medication. So, at the moment this is what I'm using. I may be taking prescription medications again in the future. It all depends on what my neurologist tells me the next time I see him.
I was unaware of these tests myself, but I'm sure my neurologist will get to those at some point in time. I've only been seeing him just over a year.
Were any of your brain scans done with contrast? Was one of those MRIs an MRA/MRV to look at your brain's blood vessels specifically? Have you seen an ear nose and throat specialist to test your vestibular system? Have they done an EMG on you? Have they done a carotid doppler ultrasound on you?
can I ask why you're so against being put on anti-depressants? They're not just for depression, but are actually often used in treatment of migraines because they effect the same chemicals in the brain. Also, it's NOT a sign of weakness to take them, I'm on 4 different psych meds, and they really help my migraines a lot.
fogot to add, since the really bad headache over a week ago I have a sligh drooping of my right eye and an almost perm twitch, which can be excessive
