Bad headaches a year after Lasik

My girlfriend had lasik a year ago and has had bad headaches that last for days ever since.  These headaches are becoming more frequent.  She says that the level of pain has been about the same throughout the year.  These are the types of headaches that hurt more every time she moves.  Also, light triggers them and makes her nausous.  Sometimes she has them when she wakes up.

Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? If you do not have any history of headaches prior to the surgery, you may need to have this checked by a neurologist. Further evaluation including imaging studies will help determine the underlying cause. Prescription medications may also be indicated to help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

I had Lasik 3 weeks ago and I also am getting servere headaches, my eyes are half shut and i am constantly tired. Doctors cant see why and the surgions at Optical Express said it's nothing to do with surgery. I have never had headaches before so I know that it is since surgery that this has started. Has anyone else got any where with this? Or how I can get rid of the constant pain?

I have had severe migraine headaches (if that is what it is) after a 1.5 years after Lasik surgery.

What triggers my migraines are sunlight and looking at my computer screen and TV (prolonged time in the sun, working on the computer or watching TV from a distance where I sort of squint).  I am usually sick to my stomach, nautious...like I have to throw up and the pounding of the headache is on one side of my head.

I am down for always two days and cannot do anything except laying on my bed in pain with no lights on.

If anyone has a name for this, please let me know.  :)

Hi,
How is your girlfriend?  Can you elaborate on the characteristic of the headache? The risks and complications of LASIK surgery are inflammation, corneal abrasions, haze, and under/over correction. Migraine headaches are usually associated with nausea and vomiting and presents with one sided throbbing pain. It is important that all triggers are identified to prevent recurrence. Ice packs and over-the-counter pain medications may help provide relief. If it persists, further evaluation by a neurologist may help. Take care and best regards.
