I do not have an answer for you but I just posted a message and question for one of our top answers about this issue exactly. I have a hypothyroid issue And have been experiencing horrific cramping in my feet at night when I’m in bed.  I’ve never had anything like it.   I have not had any recent blood work done in the last four months her self but I am going to pull out those records from that time and see what potassium levels look like. There’s a great website at the mayo clinic about low potassium but I have yet to find an answer as to the relationship with the thyroid. I’m sure it’s there though I’m sure there’s a relationship just don’t know how.  good luck with everything and stay in touch with everyone

I have Hashimoto and my potassium was a little low.

So I eat a lot of bananas. But now I want to swing from the chandelier and drag my hands on the ground.  Bananas are better than apricots, so like many things, its a trade off. There's always beans I guess.

I've always had low pottassium and always had to eat a banana everyday.
I also have Graves Disease, had hyperthyroidism and had RAI (radioactive iodine) then a Thyroidectomy.
I never associated the two.
I thought my low pottassium was from heart issues being born with a heart murmur.

Maybe it does both fall together.
Just get on the bananas and take a pottasium supplement everyday until the levels increase.

I also have a Pituitary gland tumour (found out a few days ago) and this regulates the TSH........I really dont know if that has anything to do with it.

But I do know Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism was traced back to 1985 for me.
