Is it possible?

I've never had to do this before but find comfort in reading all of your post. It really helped me threw days 1 2 and 3. I feel so much better already is it posible to detox faster than other ppl. I was only using about 5 loratab 10's a day and felt better on day three. Now I am still fighting horrible cravings and would also like to get some advice to help deal with them. Four days clean after five years of using I'm kinda proud of myself with everything else going on in my life but could really use some help and some answers. Thanks!

Congratulations and keep it up. Everyone is different. I good friend of mine is off loartabs as well. He has been off for two months now. He fights the cravings constantly. Find a good friend to confide in and also a support group such as NA. Focus on the positive outcomes to not giving in. Let me know if I can be of any further help to you.

P.S. The alcohol was a 33 year addiction and codeine a 20 year addiction,so I have a lot of inbuilt triggers to overcome.

Well done, and the further along you get the better you will feel, like lealea said everybody is different.I'm 211 days off codeine and alcohol and sometimes I still feel like having a drink, but because I know I'm an alcoholic I know it won't stop at one drink so I don't touch any alcohol,I don't have any cravings for the codeine which is good.Just keep going minute by minute if you have to.Good Luck  Denise

I really feel better and do have that constant nagging in the back of my head that says I want it I want it now. Just taking it hour by hour right now cant even try day by day yet. I guess I'm really lucky though I have a great support system and even starting to find my old self again. when I feel like using I just look at my kids and the respect I get from them I want to show them the same. thanks for the answers.

It is totally possible to detox faster than other ppl report....every one's body and system is different. I am day 12 off tramadol, and many of the things i read other ppl post were different than what i was experiencing at the same time/point others were still experiencing. But everyday is a new day, i would do really good/feel really good one day, the next not so much. I found/am finding it best to take it one day at a time and focus on that day....if i felt good on that day  -go and run w/it and take advantage. If i felt crappy the next realize that the drug is still working itself out of your system. My energy has not returned 100% but it is so much better than it was a week ago today. My physical symptoms of w/d seem to be gone, but i am still fighting some mental demons feeding me negative thoughts. You should be proud of yourself, every day clean is another day you were able to make it through another day without the "vise" we have all found ourselves in.....reward yourself in some sort of small way each day you are free of your lorab....but remember this is a PROCESS and you are not "well" yet, but you are so much better than you were! :) congrats
