Post Rectocele and cystocele-painful sex

I am 42, I had grade 3 rectocele, and grade 2 cystocele repair 4 months ago.  I have had sex probably 10 to 15 times since surgery, everytime it is incredibly painful.  Also, can not stop taking MIRALAX.  Will I ever get back to normal, or will sex always be this way and will i ever get off MIRALAX??

I had hyst, rectocele and cystocele in 10/ 2017,,,now when I write is 6/2020. Sex is unbearable. Pain is much like cramps or labor pains and is in wall of vaginal canal above the rectocele. Not able to enjoy any penetration.  My surgeon left the state so after the post up. there is no follow up available. I'm sorry this might have happened to anyone.

I am so sorry your surgeon harmed you! Hysterectomy harmed me too but, thankfully, I don't have pain... just some of the common negative effects.

Like all laxitives , they are addicting,,,( hmmm dont like that word its more your body gets too used to it and cannot do what it should w/o)

Id suggest switching to a really high fiber diet...and taking stool softner instead read package carefully. You can discuss this with your dr and or pharacist too its a otc med.

Heck yeah its normal to have bad pain after surgerys that you had,,,I assume you went for post op check ups right? your vagina is most likely smaller than it was before..due to the reconstruction of rectum and bladder/urethra...so its like you may need to let skin in vagina sretch it will , have him be very gentle....use lube.  Try different positions...one may hurt less than another.
If you are still not having a satisfoctory sex life in 2-3 weeks after following my advice please go back to dr...that was a serious surgery...and oerhaos he has more to reccomend.\
BTW Kegals never hurt...

good luck
Cherie,,,,,remember this too shall pass :)
