c-section

I have a scheduled c-section and was wondering how long does it take for you to heal?  Also, I'm going to breast feed and know they really can't give you that much for the pain.  How much pain will I be in?

I am a bit late posting here, if you havent had your section, just know that everyone is different.  Mine was awesome and I barely felt much more pain than like a pulled muscle.  Of course I took it easy tho.  Just stay active but dont push yourself.  I walked around the hospital floor the day after surgery and kept myself walking as much as I could handle till I was 100% and it only took a couple weeks to be pain free.  Every now and then I feel a little pain when I walk, but its still barely anything and I never have to take pain meds for it.

I did take the pain meds they gave me, but only a half when I needed it for the first week and thats it.  My milk was just fine.

Hi!  I had a c section.....the first few days is when you'll feel the most pain.  It was a little difficult to get up and down but the sonner you start to move around the better.  Breastfeeding will get the contractions in your uterus going but that's what makes it shrink....I only took extra strength Tylenol and Advil even though the hospital offered me stronger meds.  Be careful though, some of the meds can affect your breastmilk so be sure to ask.  That's why i stuck with the low dose stuff.  After a few days i felt significantly better.  My son was born May 27...even though he was due july 6th.  I had disloving stitches that have healed wonderfully.  Hopefully you can make it through the pain because i won't lie...everytime you move it's going to hurt.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and just do the best you can.  Don't try to be Wonderwoman...you'll need your rest.

Take care :)
