Sleep Disorders

I cannot get my 2 year old son to go sleep early in the night. I am on vacation now and he is frustrating me and his daddy. He goes to bed between 11pm and 1am everynite. His daddy is so frusrated he banks him to force him to sleep. He wakes up between 7-9am every morning.
What do I do about this?

Set a sleeping routine. Turn off the lighting at 9 everything. If you do not have dim lighting you can switch to one. Bebrilli and Phillips have great options

Hi, welcome to the forum, your child seems to have circardium related sleep disorder. It starts in childhood, onset of sleep problems tend to be associated with stress, anxiety, or circadian rhythm sleep disorders.

They may also be associated with sleep disorders (eg, sleep apnea, periodic limb movements), medical conditions that cause pain, psychiatric diseases (eg, anxiety, depression).

The investigations which will help to diagnose the type and cause for insomnia are Polysomnography, Multiple sleep latency test and Actigraphy.

The therapy for this condition includes retaining of normal circadian rhythm by non-pharmacological therapy which includes; Photo therapy, maintenance of sleep hygiene.

Is it that important that he goes to sleep early, does he sleep during the day?
My son has never slept before 11pm what time are you trying to get him to sleep?
Lots of families are in the park until 10pm by us and made me realise i am not alone!

Try getting down to a bed time , and showing the toddler a schedule
and having activities  during the day that would tire out the 2year old.
theres a 5year old in my household and will be up till 4am and wake up at
7am feeling ready to go for the day.
But if he has a long day when he gets home, he's knocked out for a long time.
Getting a schedule down , like getting your son to know after a bath and a story is bedtime and thats when he needs to lay down and sleep.
