Is there a helpful source or guide to filing for disability than can help you not make mistakes that could end up costing you later. A source for frequently asked questions about filing? I have so many questions but no attorney will help me until after I have filed! Please Help if you can Thanks guys,

I found this site on my searches and have recently just applied for SSDI.  Hired "Disability Group" prior to finding this site.  Had my Phone interview Tuesday.  Wish me Luck.  Lots of good information and senarios on this site.  Good reading.

Let me know if this helps.  It is only information so play with care and I am not recommending that you follow anything only becuase it is not my place to do that.  This is all new to me and I am going in with blindfolds.  Probably the same as you.  It took me a long time just to come to the realization that I could no longer work and needed to file.  Very tough decission.  Let me know how you are doing and feeling.

Your local social security office should have people there that can assist you in filing your application. Is this your first application or appeal?
