bilaterl epididymal cysts

i'am writing this on behalf of my brother. my brother is 11yrs old. we noticed that his testicles startd growing big.. rapidly. we consulted the doctor and we have done an ultrasound to..
the scrotal scan says that
right testis: size: 3.1*1.4 cm. texture is normal
right epididymis: An oval echoluscent lesion is seen. Size;10*7mm
left testis: size:2.8*1.6cm.texture is normal.
Left epididymis: a circular echoluscent lesion is seen. Size:3mm
no obvious mass lesion or hernia detected in the inguinal region.
Impression: bilateral epididymal cysts.
please tell me is this a serious problem. because the doctor has suggested a for surgery.
i want to know how does this problem occur??
will have problem in future after undergoin a surgery?

i hope ur brother is fine now ..
i had a bilateral cysts .. i dont know if they go away on their own or not .. cause sometimes it shows on ultrasound and sometimes it doesnt

Thnx for asking .. Im good now .. It turn out its a side effect of dangerous drug i have been using called "minoxdil" spray .. I was taking it after dermatolgists recommendation to treat hair loss .. After 2 years using it continously 2 times a day applying on my head scalp i had first episode of electrical pain in testis started as a cyst appearing on ultra sound and ended with 2.9 degree varicocele on both testi and hydrocele on both sides plus kidney pain , chest sharp pain episodes swollen limbs and numb small hand finger lasted for 5 months .. Change in voice becoming deeper and deeper .. Blur vision .. Left leg position always 2 cm behind right leg position .. High level of Lever bilrubin enzyme .. Crazy hair growth everywhere .. Psychological issues and changes like suicidal thoughts 2 times changes in libido sometimes goes very low sometimes crazy high .. I went below bottom but never doubted myself even some docs told me crazy or obssessive you know why cause every ultra sound i take is different .. And what docs told me never made senss how after all these years a genetical biological disease which i inhereted from birth "varicocele" 27 years finally decided to make an appearance !! And i was right .. Thank god .. I hope i get more well and good and i hope u too.
