Monday Updates Nov. 8

Hello Ladies!

Nothing really crazy new other than the fact that EVERYTHING is "mine" these days.  And, I mean everything.  It is a battle, but we are working through it :)  Timeouts are still a very effective discipline tool for her.  Although, now she kicks the ground or will hit one of our dogs if they walk by her while she is in timeout, which only leads to longer time in timeout.  The funny thing is, she totally inticipates us coming over and talking to her when she does this because she starts screaming at the top of her lungs (boogers down the face and all!).  She is extremely strong willed and definitely has my personality :)  She's quite fiesty!  So, we are still working on tantrums... and from what I am told, we will be in this stage for a while.

She is also speaking in short sentences now on a regular basis.  It seems like in the past maybe month or so her vocab has picked up 10 fold.  She loves to wave and say "Hi" to literally every person that walks past when we are out.  She gets the biggest kick out of people responding to her.

AFM: AF was due today and she is no where in sight.  Could this be the month??!?!  I plan on testing tomorrow, but am not holding my breath.  My philosophy has stayed the same this time around... Que sera, sera... what will be, will be.  I won't be heart broken if it doesn't come up positive.  I will keep you all posted :)

Yes, Jem... good info!  I just made an appt. with my doctor... although I can't get in until Dec. 16th.  But, I will bring what you suggested up.

Getting pregnant with Leighton (and our other 2 miscarriages) was a breeze!  It was like, "Ok, let's get pregnant this month."  And we would!  This time is totally different :/

Well Ladies... I took a test and it is negative :(  Where o where is AF?!?!  I think I am going to make an appt. for December because my cycles have been screwie since I got off BC in June.  Ranging from 33-35 days... although this month it will be longer (assuming it shows up).  Maybe if my cycle is longer this month, I ovulated a lot later than I thought?  Thus, showing a negative this month?  Ugghhhhhhh... soooo confusing.

hey toes - we tried several months too....when i got pregnant this time around, I had gone to the DR for help. Basically they did a blood test on day 3, an ultrasound to see if I would ovulate soon on day 11, then they gave me a shot in the rear that day and told me to have sex all weekend. I turned 35 (GULP!) this summer so I figured I'd take control and get it done with a little help rather than investing the time - (by the way - you are all spring chix next to me!! hah)...but anyway, if you are serious about it happening sooner - you might want to do the same program. This allowed us to get pregnant before starting chlomid or more aggressive treatments (which I was prepared for if this did not work)....anyway - just thought I'd pass it on!

(Jules - I will save a little sunshine for you! Chi town will not be missed all week! But I plan to look HOT in my new tankinis. NOT.)

Brock is doing great!  He's all boy!  He climbs on everything, tackles kids at daycare, climbs on the table...it's crazy!  He says more words that we understand, so the language is developing.
We got this angel figurine for the baby shower that sits on a shelf in his room, and it lights up when turned on.  So, every morning when he wakes up he points to it and says, "No!"  Not NO, but the opposite of on with a short o sound.  I say, "On!" He switches the sounds...so cute!
We're still working on the baby making front!  This is month #7 of trying, and I got a migraine on Saturday.  That's not a good sign.  That's a sign of a soon to come period!  I'll be visiting the doctor if it doesn't work this month!  Not getting any younger!
Hope all is well, and everyone has a good, thankful month!

Mady is actually doing pretty well in the last few weeks.  Although she is soo whinny to me and not to anyone else.  But I have been ignoring her at this point and it is starting to fade away.  She hasnt had any terriable tantrumns lately though.

Mady is a chatty cathy she never stops talking and is also trying to make short sentences.  She does still go on and on babbling though too.

AFM- I am half way there yeahhhhhh.  Feeling pretty good. I am very jealous of you ladies jetting off to warm places I wish.

Oh Ovaz - we do have the SAME child! MINE MINE and NO are common words. I have not really done time outs - but she has gone to her crib when she is bad. Interested to hear what you say and how you handle TOs....Hayden too is VERY strong willed. I am a total push over - so I know she gets it from Drew.

She has also has TOTALLY boycotted eating. We have always had challenges on this front- sooo frustrating. I actually felt very annoyed with her the other day b/c I made this fancy turkey meatloaf with pureed veggies in the recipe (from Jessica Seinfeld's book) and she would not touch it. Even her 'usuals' are a battle these days - so she eats light and then doesn't sleep well - it is a vicious cycle. I felt bad for getting annoyed - but I just was. I felt like such a bad mom.

WhitneyL -- sooo gross and hilarious about Mark and the diaper! Have a great trip to Disney!!

Ovaz -- can't wait for an update. Sending good thoughts for either this time or in the future!

AFM - feeling good - might get the baby's sex on Friday at our 16week....then Sat we are OFF TO MEXICO FOR A WEEK! WOHOO! Don't know how - but we got bumped to first class - I wonder what havoc hurricane hayden will reap! hah

Hello all!

Mark definitely has a mind of his own as well. He walks around the house trying to mimic what we are doing, and gets really upset if he can't figure it out. He loves to read books and enjoys pointing to characters and naming them.

Lately Mark is obsessed with Elmo and Sesame street. In fact, he wears pampers diapers and they have Sesame street characters on them. The other day I came upstairs to find him surrounded by diapers he had pulled from the trash. He looked at me and shrieked, "Elmo Mommy look!" Then he picked up a poopy diaper, kissed it and rubbed it against his face. It was super gross, but really funny.

He has also been sleeping in a twin bed for a few weeks now. It was surprisingly easy to get him to stay in bed at night, but nap times were a little bit of a battle. I kept having to go to his room, pick him up and put him back in his bed, but he eventually gave up.

We are going to Disneyland for a week on the 19th. I am a bit weary as last year Mark was 8 months old and was really easy to handle. Now, though, he is a monster with a never ending motor! Oh well. At least we are staying in the Disney hotel so I can always take him back to the room.

Ovaz- CONGRATS! I can't wait to hear if you are pregnant!
