OH we dont need the crib for baby b/c we bought her a convertable and will buy the baby a new one tooo.
I sooo don't know when to make this transition. I feel like i should get all this (potty, bed, ect) done before the new baby comes, but I am not ready either. The stairs are right next to Mady's room also so that really scares me.... I have been contemplating this the past month or so.
LOL! Ovaz you make me laugh :)
I also wanted to add that we would most definitely kept Mark in a crib for as long as we could, but his poor knees kept getting stuck between the railings & he figured out how to climb out of it. We were basically forced to move to the twin bed.
WHITNEY: I live by Supernanny! So, not lame in my book! haha
We have yet to do this transition, but I am getting nervous/anxious for the big day. We have friends who moved their kids the day they turned 15-18 months (seriously) and then we have friends who don't move their kids until age 3. I know Leighton is "ready" for the big bed, but honestly... I AM NOT! So, we are waiting until the chaos of the holidays are over with when I can totally focus on keeping her in there and not be totally exhausted in doing so.
Good question and I am curious to see what others have done.
This is what we did with both boys during the transition:
We took advice from (lame, I know) Supernanny. We would go through our regular bedtime routine then put baby in his bed. Then every time he would get out we would simply go straight into his room, and without acknowledgment, place baby back into his bed and leave. The first couple times it would take an hour or so to get baby to stay in place, but within a few days both my boys learned not to get out of bed. It wasn't that bad.
