Is Mirena really that bad? Or is it the side effects?

Hi all! I just removed my Mirena on Oct 5th 2010. (day after my last period) I was on it for 2yrs. AF visited me like clockwork. She was brief (3 days) and Light. I never had any complications while I was on it. (Thank god) Now that I'm off it, I want to TTC. I think my cycles just got back to "normal". Since the removal, AF visited on 11/2-11/6, 11/27-12/2, then most recently 12/23-12/27. So far I don't think there's anything out of the normal going on. Have any of you experienced otherwise? If so I'm really intrested in hearing about it.

I'm so glad that some of you didn't have problems with it but I certainly did!! OK! I now can tell myself that I have a hormonal inbalance due to this "should've been banned product"!!! I am now on the journey of recovering from generalized anxiety and panic disorder. I never have felt so scared that I was going to die, have a stroke (on a number of times), heart attack, insomnia (hence it's 4.44am) brain zaps, thought about that big pole i could have smashed the car into some days, vivid and very scary real like dreams of getting pulled out of bed, you name it!!!! Going to go to the docs and going to get my hormones checked out. Been wasting an hour of my time once a month with cognitive behaviour therapy and all this time I could have been told by my GP that I could have a test for hormone inbalance. It's not fair that what we have been put through all this! I wish my doctor would have outlined the possible threat of anxiety!! I am so F'ing angry all the time and juggling two kids and work is hard enough without having to deal with anxiety! Please if you are reading this and thinking of having the Mirena inserted, THINK AGAIN!!!! Speaking from a used to be strong female that loves the sun (can't go outside during the day anymore with fear of getting cancer) which is not a very nice feeling! Not being able to shower unless my husband is there due to a recent panic attack I had (thought my legs were swelling and changing colour). I could go on all day and tell you my problems and all after this "THING" was inserted! Please spread the word and really think twice before your laying with your legs wide apart with a blanket over u!! To all the poor women that have gone through this already. We are not alone that's for sure!!! The forums I have been reading suggest that it's not the IUD's fault but why are we all experiencing the same thing??? Just doesn't make sense in my eyes!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!l

I had probs with it and im soo glad you didnt I had it removed aug 2nd 2010 I didnt get my af until sept 16 and it was light. Then found out I was prego the 19th of oct and miscarried due to mirena making my lining to thin to sustain the pregnancy. I m/c nov 4th. Had my cycle dec 16th and found out I was prego sometime in Jan of this year and now im 9 weeks and 4 days. If you didnt have any issues I don't think you will now that its out. Its only the ones who had adverse reactions to it that had so many prob afterwards as well. Hope that helps!
