decline in baby movement. anyone else had this?

Hi ladies, I just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed thier babies movements decline. Yesterday I hardly noticed any movements so went to the hospital, they done some tests which monitored his heart beat. After about 20 mins or so the midwife came back and said he is a little sleepy lets wake him up, so drank a sugary drink which kicked started his heart beat faster and a few movements felt.
Today has bin the same, I have felt him but not as 'hard' as I normally do but have felt movements.
Should I be worried or is this normal for them to slow down at this stage?
I am 36 weeks 5days.
I really want to meet our son now and hold him, I'm sure we are all feeling the same.
Good luck to everyone and thank you for any replys

I am 40 weeks 3 days.. no slowing of movements at all, though I am surprised- considering she has to be running out of room!! I am huge. My midwife is making me check for 10 movements in 1 hr.. Friday I will be taking the NST(non-stress test), having and US & check up to see if baby is okay... then I have to schedule a less than desired repeat c-sec for the week of 1/10/11

Let him sleep. I telling you. The bigger he gets the less room he has to move. He's Okay. One day you will wish he was just napping instead of in the flour dish, or the bubble bath, or water over the floor, or poop up to his neck. Sleep little baby don't say a word.

I've definitely noticed a slow down in movements over the last 3 weeks (I'm now at 38 weeks)!  I was told that there is less room for the little one to move so the movements are not as dramatic and are harder to feel.  I've always had a hard time feeling the movements since my placenta is anterior.

My little one is still moving well (the OB doc has seen him "practice breathing" for the last 3 weeks - which I am told is a good sign).

As long as you feel 10 kicks in 2 hours, you are fine - these may be very subtle - don't worry (although I usually get bored counting after 10 minutes).

Make sure you stay well hydrated and that you take care of yourself.

yes you need to drink some caffine and move hir around if you dont get 10 kicks in 2 hrs go to the dr..they will slow down because there is no room but you should still feel him in there..

I had this happen on Wednesday. Thursday was my 39 week check and the OB said your baby should not slow down in movements. It means they don't like something or could be under stress.  I sat on a non stress monitor for about 20 minutes and she woke up and began to move. Heart rate went from the low 130 to 150's so they said she was fine.  Keep monitoring your lil guys movements. My OB said to lay on the bed with no TV etc. relax and pay attention.

I am being induced on Monday! Can't wait!
