Issues with Socks?

I was wondering if anyone else has any issues with hating to wear socks?

I abhor wearing socks or hosiery of any kind and havent worn any for years, largely because I absolutely hate the way socks feel like they are clinging to my foot. Wierdly, Im fine with my bare foot inside a shoe, although I prefer close toed shoes, because I dislike looking at my toes.  Someone at work commented about my perpetual lack of socks and thought it strange, and after I apparently rambled on and on about how much I completely hate socks, they told me I sounded a little OCD about it, which got me wondering....

I actually have several family members with other mental illnesses, but have never had any major issues myself, but I was wondering if this anti-socks thing is a real OCD trait?

I also hate socks, I don't really know if it's an OCD thing but I can't stand even the thought of them and if I do have to wear socks, I'll immediately put each foot in my shoe. There's something about the softness and the material that makes me cringe but I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one.

You know what?  My son has an issue with socks. The seems in them drive him nuts. He has like one brand and one type he will wear and that is it and NO, not in the house. Those socks are off as soon as possible.  He's got something called sensory integration disorder. It is neurological in nature and has to do with our senses.  He doesn't like tags in shirts or things that are rubbing on his neck either.  He has texture issues with some foods.  Does any of this ring a bell?  :>))

I didnt even know this was an issue these days. It seems like most of society has accepted the direction of fashion's change, and are fine with it, and I never wear any socks or hose to work either. No socks at work should be fine, although smoking at work is of course another matter! but I dont think there should be too much stigma with this, so I'd think you dont need to worry about not wearing socks, I wouldnt say it makes you OCD or anything, but then again Im not a doctor.

Im with ya on the not-wearing-socks-thing. I never wear socks regardless of what shoe, whether heels, or boots, or loafers or tennis shoes or ballet flats. I wont even wear socks when Im breaking in a new pair of shoes and they are giving me blisters, thats what bandaids are for right? ;) But, not, you're OCD just because you dont like to wear socks. Lots of women hardly ever wear socks and its perfectly fine.

Thats true, the inexplicable lost sock is yet another reason to hate socks. Even though its freezing cold here, Im still sporting the ballet flats with no socks look, and people at work think Im crazy for it.
