Storm/Full Moon

Hi again Everyone-
First off, congrats to all Moms that have had their Babies! Welcome little Angels :o)
Now, question for you all. I will be 38 weeks 5 days on Tuesday. (am 1cm and 70% effaced and having BH) We are expecting an Ice storm on Tuesday and a Full Moon is Wednesday. Have been told by many to be ready for the full moon and that bad weather has an effect on starting labor. Did some reading on this. The bad weather is the air pressure and the full moon is the gravitational pull. The way it effects the tides etc. It's said also that L&D at the hospitals add extra staff at this time because they are known to be extra busy.
Just wonder what your take on this is? And has anyone else actually experienced the start of labor due to weather or full moon??
Just wondering....ok and hoping? ;o)

Give me your thoughts please

Well, I delivered my little boy on Jan. 17th @ 1:45AM. Two days before the storm/full moon. The hospital told me that I was one of many to come. And that I was lucky I came then, because the L&D floor was going to be very busy. When I was leaving the hospital on the evening on the 18th, there were 4 women coming in, and 1 Emergency pre-term labor being life-flighted out.
They totally believe in the Full Moon contributing to the start of Labor.

On the 9th we were told that we were getting a bad snow/ice storm so be prepared well that night i was having contractions but nothing to bad and then when we woke monday the 10th it was already so bad outside we had like 7 inches of snow and it was frezzing well i still had contractions and then when the weather got really bad i went into full labor lol we had to drive to the hospital and could not even see the roads..i had her at 1:45 am on the 11th...so what they say about theshift in the weather sends you into labor is true well at least for me lol..so maybe your baby will be here soon good luck....

I was actually scheduled to be induced the day after the full moon in December.  I was 40 weeks, the longest I've ever gone (2001-water broke at 37 weeks. 2006-induced at 37 weeks). I had heard about the L&D ward being busier, etc. on the evening of full moons, too. It was also the winter solstice and the eclipse so people were saying that with the full moon these could cause women to go into labor. So I thought maybe I wouldn't have to be induced after all... maybe I'd go into labor on my own, no such luck lol. Not even a contraction.

I also feared that L&D would fill-up and they would turn me away (I'd been told I had to call ahead to make sure they had room for me). I called an hour before I was supposed to be there and they said to come on in. When I got there at 5am, I mentioned the thing about the full-moon and they laughed and said that is not really the case.  In fact, they told me they had fewer admissions that evening than usual! So, I don't know. There are some people who swear by it, but at least here it doesn't seem to hold true. I don't know about the ice storm, maybe that will make a difference :o)
