Monday updates on Tuesday

Hi all,
So we put Hayden in a toddler bed (I actually set it up in her room a week or so ago) and last night she slept in it the WHOLE night. WAHOO! Amazing how big of a milestone this feels like - but it really seems like yesterday we were putting her in her crib for the first night and she was soo tiny. She did get up but I walked in and put her back in bed and she was GREAT.

Bday #2 is right around the corner girls! I think we might do something small at our place this year - not ready to shovel out the $500 to do a big party at a play center yet ;-) -- plus I will be 35 wks by her bday!

No updates on potty training - Hayden is just not into it. But she will sit and read on the potty now and again.

Thanks, Jem for the explanation.  I think I am going to see how it goes this next cycle (whenever that may be!  I have no idea ever...) and if we have no luck I will call my OB and schedule an appt.  Thanks for the tip though.  Oh, and no... he didn't test my FSH levels.  So, that is sometihng I would need to bring up with my OB.

FSH is usually in the prelim. panel - it stands for follicle stimulating hormone. As we age  your ovaries have to work harder to produce eggs, and this is indicated when your FSH start to rise. i think over 12 is the cut off, but treatments like chlomid help to stimulate your ovaries, release more eggs, etc. Mine was starting to get to the "high end of normal" and we were planning to try chlomid w/ my next cycle, but we were in fact able to conceive the month prior when they monitored me (ultrasound to see a follicle, followed by a shot to stimulate ovulation that weekend and a prescription for BOTH estrogren (a pill for 10 days) AND progesterone suppositories.

Ask if they tested FSH, otherwise that is really good everything came back normal - perhaps they can just monitor you like they did for me?? Check it out!

Okay, so bronchitis is located in the large bronchial tubes.  Bronchiolitis means that the sickness spread to the teeny tiny airways that are located at the very bottom of the main bronchial tubes.  It is worse because it is really difficult for the mucus to move out of the small little bronchial tubes.  Hopefully that makes sense!

She is such a trooper.  She didnt mind the breathing treatments before, but now she will say to me "All done with medicine, Mommy" after 5 minutes.  Too bad she needs to do each one for 15 minutes!  So, it then turns into a battle half the time.

AFM: I did go to my OB in December who then sent me to my endochronolist who ran some basic hormonal testing.  Everything came back normal.  Alkthough, I don't believe he tested my fsh levels.  What is that?  It has been 8 months of TTC.  I am soooo frustrated... and sort of nervous, too!

Hi girls -
Jules - we got a freebie toddler bed from someone at my gym - I looked it up online and it was only $99 so perfect for the transition, esp bc we are still in a two bedroom, I don't have the space to set up a full or twin bed for Hayden. And I don't feel like converting the crib, since we will need it for #2. As for potty training - someone said to use the DVD player. But Hayden's the same way! Up and off within mins but she thinks sitting there is pretty cool (but then she moves on).

Ovaz been following Leightons sickness on FB, poor sweet girl. I hope she gets better fast. What is the difference between Bronchitis and bronchiolitis? And keep the faith on trying - we tried Jan to aug - 8 months! Did you do a screening with the OB GYN yet on fsh levels, etc?

We got back Monday from being out of town for my MILs funeral and now Leighton is really sick.  She has been sick for over a month now, with what started out as a cold, movd to a sinus infection, then to bronchitis, and now bronchiolitis.  Sooo... she is on 2 different breathing treatments, which equates to 6-8 treatments daily, and also an oral steroid.  I feel so sad for my little monkey because she just can't breathe :(  Because she is on steriods, she can't be around other kids because of all the germs.  The steriods lower her immune system.  So, that *****.  Gymboree is on hold, playdates are on hold, and birthday parties are being cancelled.  Oh well.

I am off to buy bedrails today, actually.  I am really excited for this transition because in some way it marks the end of their "babyhood" and the beginning of their "big kid" stage.  Crazy!  I still have a hard time thinking of Leighton as a TODDLER!

That is it for us.  Still not pregnant :(  Am really starting to bum out.  HOpefully it happens soon!

Jem- did you convert her crib or just put a toddler bed in?  I have been debating on converting the crib to a full bed and just adding a rial on the side.  I amnot sure if I am ready yet, but I guess I better get there soon, Baby #2 is right around the corner.   I need to find the rails for the crib to change it over.

Potty training is on a hult here too, Mady will sit for about a inute and say all done and jump off.  Maybe I will bring a book into the bathroom too, maybe it'll help.  I am so nerveous that she will be potty trained and then regress when Chase arrives.

AFM- 9 1/2 weeks to go and counting....  I really can not wait ot meet the little man.  Although I have not done much to get ready for him.  I am waiting for my sister to move out so we can decorate the room.  We are going with a surfer theme.  I have clothes from my nephews so we are set on that end and I guess everything else will fall into place soon enough right?

Have a good week.  GO BEARS
