Ultrasound

I finally got my first u/s yesterday.  My Dh and I was there over an hour.  Yes this child is very stubborn.  They were trying to measure the baby but the baby kept moving.  Even though I'm 13 weeks, we were able to see that I'm having a boy!!!!  His heart beat at the time was 158bpm, but my 3 yrs old son was around the same when I was pregnant with him as well.  I had upload the u/s picture onto my page yesterday if anyone wants to see.  We finally got the picture of a profile of his face and that's what was printed.

It seems that every woman I run into is pregnant and is about to give birth.  I still have another six months to go, but I'm showing as if I'm 4 to 5 months and I am visibly showing.  The goods news is that there's only one child in my tummy.  The bad news is that they found a cist on my right ovary.  They don't want to do anything  until after the baby is born. The problem is that the cist almost as big as the baby and that does have me worried, but I was reassured that all of my blood test came back normal and that as it stands the baby is at a normal weight and size and has a strong heartbeat.  So right now they're going to keep a close watch on me.  My doctor wants me to see her Monday though so that she can how I'm doing though.  Right now I choose to focus on the positive and leave the rest to God.  Here's the picture I scanned.

Oh I love the picture thanks so much for posting this!! It puts everything is perspective when you see your baby inside.

Keep us posted on the cyst.  I am curious if that is something that might be able to pop when you are in labor.  I had cysts on my ovaries and after pregnancy they were gone and expelled on their own.

We go for our 21 week scan on June 8th so I am super excited to see what is going on in there now.  Don't feel bad about showing so early, I did too with this pregnancy... people were asking me if I was having twins.

Congrats on the good report from the doctor and on finding out the gender!  It's always so exciting to know - I don't know how people wait until the very end to find out now that we have the option to find out with ultrasounds.

I'm sorry to hear about the cyst and I hope it doesn't negatively affect anything.  Sounds like everything looks good so far, so stay positive! :-)
