What CAN'T you eat?

Ugh!  So far my baby doesn't like a lot of things.  I find myself avoiding more foods than liking foods.  So far it's been french fries, noodles, Japanese and anything (and I mean ANYTHING) sweet.

jessie5n8 that's awesome!  My new thing this week is waking up and getting sick.  The heartburn is getting nuts and when I lay down I get the acid coming up, so last night slept with 2 pillows under my head instead of one to tilt my body and that helped.  I try not eating too late at night like 3 to 4 hrs before bed and it still does that.  The baby is positioned differently though too so right up to my ribcage now.

Finally at 21 weeks my m/s has stopped completely! I have a little nausea once in awhile but not like it was, and I can finally eat. It's still small snacky meals throughout the day, but it's food lol...There are a few things that don't get along with my stomach so I just stay away, all in all I am just glad I can eat something!

Poor thing maybe the measurements will catch up later on in the pregnancy.  Have you tried any nausea medicine through the doctor?  I don't like taking pills at all but took a half of the m/s tabs they gave me to keep up my potassium levels from getting sick.  I even drank coca-cola to settle my stomach and it helped when I needed it to, that and crackers.  Hope it gets better :(

No, my m/s has no certain food, it's just about everything! There are a few things that I can keep down so I'm just trying to eat whatever and whenever I can. None of my other preg were like this, by about 12 or 13 weeks it was gone, so this one just likes to be difficult LOL...I don't know if not being able to eat is the cause but uterus and all is measuring a lot smaller than supposed to be, so a little worried. We will see july 13th and as long as baby looks good I'm gonna just keep trying whatever I can...Good luck ladies

Ok well I was wrong. My m/s gave me about a week break and now it's back worse than ever! I am really hoping that it will stop soon but if not I just keep telling myself it is all worth it and I get a beautiful baby out of this.

You poor thing  jessie5n8 that your morning sickness lasted so long, mine was about 15 weeks.  It's funny now looking back at how nauseated I was.  I still get some triggers every now and then.  I don't know why but when I am pregnant toothepaste always makes me gag.  And ofcourse saltines were my best friend along with ginger ale.  I would get sick then grab the crackers and soda.  Glad things are getting better for you :D  Keep us updated on your pregnancy.

Well, finally at 18 weeks I can say that my nausea is getting better! YAY!!!! I can't eat very much at one time, but it's staying down for once. I still have not gained any weight, have actually lost 6 lbs, but hopefully now that I can eat I will gain a few lbs. I am more snacking during the day than eating actual meals right now because I still have some nausea, I am just glad I can eat something. I've been drinking ginger ale to help and I still cannot eat bread of any kind, and hot dogs at all. I know hot dogs aren't good but I have kids and they love them.

I do notice I have to eat smaller meals more frequently because of feeling full.  If I eat too much it just starts coming up, not enough space in there.  And yes whatever works for you to eat, do it :D  We are 23 weeks now, 26 weeks for you Destani214 how awesome.  I feel like we are in the home stretch once we get over that 20 weeks mark lol

That is odd but perhaps a good thing too lol  Either way the nausea pills they gave me, I would only be able to take a half of them and right before bed because yes they made me drowsy too.  Benadryl is on the safe list.  I take the children's Benadryl if I need to and that seems to help.   Not often though, only had to do it twice so far when my allergies wouldn't let me sleep.

I have tried to talk to my doc about the nausea meds and she won't give them to me! Not really sure why, but my sister in law told me that her doc told her to take benedryl for nausea and that it worked so I'm not sure. I may try it anyway because my doc told me yesterday that I could take it to help me sleep! I may just wait it all out, I don't like taking meds unless absolutely necessary, I'm weird like that LOL...

Benadryl I imagine would make you sleepy.  I know for me it makes me extremely tired.  You could talk to your doctor and get on a nausea medication that you take when it happens.  I know that helped me on my last few weeks.  Thank goodness it stopped at 15 weeks for me.

Well, I have realized that coffee doesn't help at all...lol!!!!!!! At almost 17 weeks, I still have the worst nausea and still get sick once or twice a day. Dill pickles seem to help me a little, I know very odd but they do work. Also just regular popsickles help, and sucking on mint candy or just some kind of candy...I am really hoping this gets better soon! Has anyone heard of trying benedryl to help with nausea?????? I have been told this by a couple people and wanted to hear your ladies input on it.

I don't know if any of you tried them or not, I didn't but they are called prego pops I think and they are supposed to help a lot with nausea.  Soda like coca cola helped a lot and I am not a soda drinker.  At first ginger ale was useful then I got sick of that.

Green olives helped me....was a weird one I know, but they helped.  It took me up to 15 weeks before I was really able to start getting some appetite back.  Hang in there!

I am still at 14 weeks not able to eat much of anything.. anything tomato makes me sick, the smell or taste...crackers that they tell you to eat for nausea, they even make me sick. I am constantly nauseous and get sick at least once a day if not 2 or 3 times a day...Everything makes me sick....I have found that bananas are ok they don't make me too bad, and popsickles have been a real help too...Hopefully it will get better soon, if not I feel it's a small price to pay for a beautiful healthy baby...Good luck ladies

For me all sweets for the most part are making me seek.  Ugh the chocolate I used to love so much makes me hurl.  Even fruit that I like is not settling with me.  I love eating strawberries and blackberries but the heartburn has caused me acid reflux.

I'm normally a vegetarian... but the baby likes meat and apparently I have to eat it.  Great topic, love it!!

I am almost 20 weeks pregnant and still have some major food aversion.  Meat (looking at raw meat gets to me even), I can eat chicken sometimes as long as I don't smell it being cooked.  Smells are killing me.  I have febreze on my side of the couch and bed to spray anything and everything that drives me nuts.  Even my poor hubby at times.. lol  I really don't like rice of any kind, chinese food, anything that smells icky lol...

I couldn't eat ANYTHING in the 1st trimester it seemed.  The smells of a lot of foods made me sick and the sight of the rest of the foods made me sick.  I was nauseated 24/7 and I threw up probably once every other day.  I took a spoonful of Emetrol pretty much after every dinner at least - if not every meal.  I pretty much lived off of peanut butter sandwiches (no jelly), plain baked potatoes, plain eggs, plain oatmeal, plain bread or toast for the first trimester.

Then, after about week 14 or so, when I could eat again, I didn't have any problems with most foods, except the ones that I either distinctly remember throwing up (like a meal I had at a Pho restaurant that I used to really like -so we haven't been back there again - it'll probably be OK after I have the baby) or the worst one was rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.  I still can't stand the sight or smell of them and I am almost 37 weeks pregnant!  That has been the absolute worst food for this pregnancy.  My husband loves rotisserie chicken, so he's had to give them up for the time being since I can't stand for them to be in the house.  We used to eat them all the time, too.  It's weird.

With my last pregnancy, I could NOT even watch the commercial for KFC's Kentucky Grilled Chicken.  It totally grossed me out and I had to change the channel.  Something about it being grilled chicken in a bucket just totally made me sick - LOL
