I have been dialated to 1cm and cervix got soft then shortened and thinned a couple weeks ago but didn't progress after that so I guess I can't get my hopes up yet, bummer. No one in my family is ever early, always late... guess I just hope I don't follow in their footsteps cause more than 3 wks of this could make me nutty!!
I don't really have the shooting pains, but I can definitely feel baby pressing on me more, like wherever her head is...right at the cervix I guess. It happens more often now, but the last two doctor visits, including today, I've had no change. Still 3cm and "thick". I am 39w2d along. If this girl doesn't come by her due date, she's being induced on June 16! There's an end in sight!! :-)
lol, yes it s*cks soooo bad! I'm not sure if the baby moving on your cervix causes changes, I'm gonna say no because I know people who have this and aren't dilated at all. But, I began to dilate at 37 weeks, and I have all of the same pains that you have. So, who knows! I feel lucky though.
Sounds exactly like what I have going on :( This isn't fun! So glad I didn't have all this with my 1st!!! Does this cause any change to your cervix? Seems like it HAS to be doing something it hurts so bad. Between the cramps, back pain, hip pain and these stinking sharp pains I just wana cry sometimes :)
Oh yes, I have that constantly! I'm 39w3d now, but I've had those sharp pains in my cervix/rectum for a WHILE. They're sharp/shooting pains? I was told it was just the baby putting pressure on my cervix. That is normal. And I have been absolutely uncomfortable my entire last trimester. The hip pain is really bad too, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep, I can't sleep on either side. And when I have contractions they are in my hips and my back. The shooting pains really hurt though...and mine sometimes radiate down my inner thighs, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. =/
