thank you KAnuCmEY that is how i feel right now and i still have 12 days to go but i am puttin my foot down with them next week
lol, last pregnancy I went two days past my due date and was in tears begging my doctor to induce me. Once you hit that mile marker of your due date it's hard to keep on going. If you want to hold out and go longer more power to you, but I personally feel if you are done then get that baby out before you lose your sanity completely!!!
thanks again and don't worry about ur rant I feel the same way I have had three hospital births all with epidurals and I totally agree with doing what is right for me and my family and I am putting my foot down with dr and I feel the same with having to defend modern medicine.
I totally don't see the point in making a woman wait past her due date. I mean, I really don't. There are so many people on here that will tell you about how babies come when they are ready and whatever, but I just don't see a point in being miserable any longer than you have to be. I have gotten into many disagreements about things like this and induction and epidurals and all that. I get really irritated because so many people think that if you aren't doing what they would do, then you are harming yourself and your baby. Well, I have had 6 hospital births and all has been fine. I do have a great doctor and totally trust him but I think it is a woman's right and decision on how she chooses to give birth. Getting induced or getting an epidural doesn't make you any less of a mother or person.
Sorry for my rant. I just feel as though I am ALWAYS having to defend modern medicine.
You do what YOU feel is best for you and your family and be firm w/ your doctor.
wish my dr was like that granted he has never with me due to all the past times I was induced for reasons early cause of BP issues but I have seen women in the office and oveheard them talking about how he let them go two wks past their due date and most of them ended with horrible inductions that ended in c sections I just don't want that to be me. I am going on thrusday for my apt and u/s because she is measuring three weeks ahead of where she should be. so I am going to foward ask ask about an induction date then hopefully it will be. a date I won't have to keep
I have done that in the past. My doctor is fine with it. I don't see anything wrong with it. You are literally full term at that point so my opinion is that it's fine. If you feel this is best for your family, I would speak w/ your doctor.
I totally understand where you are coming from. Aug./Sept. is a really hard time to have a baby due because of school schedules. My last baby was born Sept. 10, 2009 and it was sooooo hard. School and homework were in full swing and I wasn't. I can remember having to get up w/ my kids to help get them ready when I had just laid down myself, with having a newborn. I felt like I needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open. Then I had to go pick my then Pre-K student up 3 hours later. Sometimes when the baby napped, I was afraid to because I was afraid I'd oversleep or be sleeping so deep from fatigue, that I wouldn't hear an alarm clock. It was terrible. I homeschool now, so I can make their schedule fit mine, but I know how hard it is to have babies born at that time of year.
So I think there is nothing wrong w/ it. My doctor won't make me go past my due date if I don't want to.
