Roughly one year and 7 days ago I hurt my left calf muscle, I was playing football and I felt my leg getting tight but thought nothing of it. I continued on, and about 20 minutes after feeling the initial tightness/crampyness something severely went wrong. I was back stepping relatively slow, I planted my left foot turned RIGHT, and attempted to accelerate, not only did it not happen, but I found my self on my knees in teeth grinding pain. I got to my feet and attempted to walk only to find that I could not bare any weight on the ball of my LEFT foot... Not only did it severely hurt, but it felt as if I had absolutely NO muscle to support it. I managed to walk / hop on the heel to a bench and about cry. ER doctor (I am in the military so medical is not that great) initially said "calf strain"... the initial no muscle pain / no weight baring persisted for about a week... I followed up for weeks and weeks and months and months and now a year... i have been told it's anything from calf strain to in my head to achilles tendonitis to partial achilles tendon tear to medial gastrocnemius tear...
In November they did an MRI of my achilles tendon but not of my calf, the test came back negative, but I never had a second opinion, or saw the image.
The pain is occurring on the inside, bottom side of the calf and the pain radiates half way down the achilles tendon.
I have been on naprosyn, ibueprofen 500mg/800mg, and now I have been prescribed mobic 15mg.
I have never been in a orthopedic boot.
I am desperately trying to find out what I need to do to solve my pain. I am so tired of it.
