If Clomid didn't work the 1st time, will it fail me again?

Hi everyone, I took Clomid & got pregnant 1st round back in Sept 2008 but had a m/c. All other rounds of clomid didn't work for me so we moved on to injections (Menopur) which also didn't work. We stopped in June 2009 due to too much stress.  I kept track of BBT and found I finally started ovulating on my own every 2 months....and amazingly, we conceived in Spet 09 on our own! Anyway, we're trying for baby #2 and going through all the tests again (HSG scheduled this Friday!) & then we will start Clomid again. I'm a little hesitant to get my hopes up since it didn't work a few years ago and we're not going to move pass clomid (no injections this time).. Please tell me you've had success with Clomid with PCOS.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT I GOT EVERY TEST THAT I NEEDED TO GET DONE N EVERY THINK CAME BACK JUST FINE I START THE CLOMID ON THE 5/20/2012 for five day 100mg miss my period on the 14 of June get up on the 16 of June cramps ALL DAY NOTHIN GET UP ON THE NEXT DAY BLOOD THAT JUST DON'T WANT STOP BALLS OF IT SMH WHT IS IT A M/C r MY PERIOD ..........

I never did get my pos OPK (i kept testing and got it on day 28) but no ovulation until day 40. The Dr decided to try a mix cycle with 100 mg Clomid CD3-7 they menopur (injections) for 4 days after. I just started on clomid again today... we shall see. Good luck everyone. this is so stressful. i thought the 2nd time wouldnt be as stressful because i already have my son but i was wrong. it's worse cause i'm constantly stressed.

I also have PCOS and I take Metformin. I had AF every 3, 4, or 5 months. There was never any regularity for me. I started taking it and got pregnant the first month. It ended up being an eptopic/tubal pregnancy and I had to have a shot to have it removed. I am just now able to try again and my doctor wants to be POSITIVE that I ovulate this cycle so he has also put me on Clomid. Metformin might be something to look into if you have PCOS.

I took Clomid (50mg) for 3 consecutive cycles and got 3 BFN's :-( .............. Then 1st time of taking 100mg and bingo! (Also used concieve plus gel which I think helped).

Thanks, I just startd Provera to get a period & will start Clomid after... crossing my fingers. ^_^

I don't have PCOS, but it took 4 tries one Clomid for one pregnancy with m/c, then another 5 tries and now I have a son.  Then we did another 3 or 4 tries and it didn't work and I stopped responding to the medication (ie, was only getting 1 follicle on ovulation).  Got pregnant on the next cycle.  It's all up to Mother Nature in the end, but Clomid helps up the chances that she'll listen.
