Nexplanon (Implanon) breasts smaller!

My breasts have shrunk from a large C to a small B! I noticed probably a month after it was inserted (my friends and boyfriend also ¬_¬) . I figured my body was just adjusting to the hormones but I've had it for 6 months now and nothings changed. I love my implant, this is the only side effect besides no periods (yay!) so I don't wanna have to get it taken out

will my body return to normal at some point or should I just get it taken out??? ive heard so many stories about different side effects and women just getting it removed..anyone stuck it out and things got better?

On Mirena IUD my breast did shrink a full cup size from a C to a B. But I'm pretty sure that's only becuz of the weight loss I also experienced cuz I assume most breast fullness comes from our body's fatty tissue but I could be incorrect in this thinking. But I lost about 20 pounds over the course of about 2 years right away after being on the IUD which is about how long it took to notice the loss in cup size so I just assumed it wasn't related. The good news is that after u have the IUD taken out if you do, ur breasts atleast mine returned to normal along with that 20 or 30 pounds of weight that also came with it. So I got right back into the office & had a other IUD put back in another several years to help me adjust to one day not having this luxury of being my optimal happy weight with the IUD in. I prefer the nice happy weight vs big boobs any day. Lol

I noticed the IUD wasn't ur birth control method but I figured someone medically could weigh in on the diff if there is any with ur method vs mirenas just simply cuz I too had same type issue. Probly shoulda mentioned that initially lol

Same thing happened to me. Boobs shrunk from a firm, full D to a soft C. I did not lose any weight other than the boob weight. They were originally 7 pounds total (I’ve weighed them) and now they are 3 pounds total.  Not only the size but the weight and feel changed completely. Took it out and they haven’t grown back.

Hi, I just wanted to know if when you had gotten your implant out, did you go on an oral contraceptive? I recently switched from an OC to nexplanon and my boobs shrunk. I am considering going back on the oral contraceptive.

I have had the nexplanon since January 28th 2015 up until almost a month ago now and besides the constant bleeding and mood swings my breast also shrunk from a big C to a very small B. At first i though it was just that i was losing weight also but once they practically turned into bags of loose skin i knew it had to be somewhat to do with the implant also. Now only almost a month passing since removal... i already notice some slight tenderness and they seem to be regaining a little tightens back! Keeping my fingers crossed they get back to normal soon becuase even a push up top is not helping!

I've had my nexplanon since Dec 2014. I am looking to get it out asap, I'm only 20 years old at the moment. But my left breast shrunk drastically and became really tight and lumpy in the first year, I had thought it was something else wrong with my body without taking into consideration that is the side in which my implant is placed. I was admitted to see a breast specialist, and he had said the reason for my breast being like this is due to a lot of hormones being clumped inside, it makes sense once I added 2+2 together and realised it is due to the nexplanon holding back my hormones. My theory is that my body hasn't stopped growing as I'm a late bloomer, I never had regular periods before hand and my boobs were still growing before I was had it in. After I had the implant my boobs have not grown in 2 years and shrunk!! I think the implant is stopping my body from developing any further and I'm looking to get it out this week. My boobs have recently after 2 years become very sore for a week and I have no idea why, but it's no good right now, I had side effects also, such as depression, anxiety, loss of sex drive as I couldn't get wet or feel like I wanted to do anything, and also mood swings. Even though a lot has happened in two years it's been harder to bounce back to my usual bubbly self, and I know the implant is holding me back. Just scared about the aftermath of taking it out as I haven't had a period for two years! Hope this helps!
Just giving an update the nexplanon and breast reduction issue, here it is March 2017 almost a year since this post and I'm sad to say my breast did not go back to normal as I hoped! I'm seriously considering surgery for enlargement because it's not just having little boobs, I could deal with that, but I can't fill in bras or bathing suites comfortably at all!
Hey have you had any luck?
I can totally sympathise! I’m currently with my second implant that I’ve had for two years and have been on the implant for a total of at least around 5 years. I have gone through an emotional rollercoaster with my boobs and my boyfriend tells me there is nothing wrong and to be more confident in myself. But how can I be confident when I don’t fill my bras/swim suits and feel so incredibly out of proportion to the rest of my body! I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve never really had regular periods before my implant as I was a late bloomer, I got my implant at 15 and I’m now 20. My breasts haven’t really grown at all in the past 3 years and now I just feel hopeless! :(  Has anyone got any advice? Surgery is something I want to avoid at all costs but I don’t know what else to do.
Hi Nicole.  You are writing on an older thread.  You'll get more answers or help if you start your own.

I'm sure this is really frustrating.  Did your breasts shrink or just never grow much?  I will tell you that life changes breast size in itself.  Gaining weight, having a child both will change your breast size.  What about a different form of birth control?
I have had the implant for a year now, I got it because of how effective it was supposed to be. I was told that weight gain was common and I’ve always been underweight so that was a plus for me. Unfortunately, I haven’t gained any weight. I have back acne and my boobs are much smaller than they were a year ago (which wasn’t very big). Now I’m incredibly self conscious and getting it removed. This was not a mentioned side effect and I don’t think I would have gotten it had I known. My removal appointment is in a week and I’ll update this post in a few months! Fingers crossed.

I've had the nexoplanon implant for 4 months and my boobs have shrunk an incredible amount. About a month or so ago I noticed my boobs didn't quite fill my bra but I've always had the problem so I didn't take much notice of it, however my mum, friends and even my dad have been pointing out how much they've shrunk! The last time I was measured, before implant, I was a DD now I'm lucky to fill a C cup. I haven't lost any weight at all so there's no other reason for the dramatic change. I'd gladly take the implant out if it means iI' have a cleavage again!

I've had the implant two years now and had no major side effects aside from random periods that last longer than my usual of a week and are really. Or constant light bleeding which I currently have had since September.
My breasts were a 34DD and have shrunk considerably. I'm not sure what size they are now but the difference is there to see. I love the implant, it's been amazing for me as a whole but I miss my boobs.
Does anyone know if getting it removed will make them come back????

I have had nexplanon in since Jan 2013 and my breasts have shrunk as well. I thought they might go back to normal because I was having lots of negative side effects inlcuding horrible mood swings, complete loss of sexual drive, when I do pretty much force myself to have sex with my boyfriend I can't get wet, I have acne all over my back which I have never had before. My face has also broken out, I have the ance somewhat under control now but it took over a year. jI have looked up several of the side effects and read lots of stories and this is the only one I have found where someone else;s breasts have shrunk. I went from  a D to a small C or B. Is this normal? I have been thinking about getting it taken out for a long time now because I don't feel like myself and I am scared that it won't be able to be removed like it should or some other serious complication. So I'm also wondering once I get it out will my boobs return to their original size? I am 23 years old and haven't lost any weight or anything but my breasts feel just empty and completely deflated. MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Using hormonal contraceptives may cause weight gain and heaviness of breasts and it is less likely to cause any breast shrinkage. If you are having considerable breast shrinkage then you should get it evaluated from your gynecologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
