Ecstasy / mdma FACE changed. PLS HELP

Hi,

Im 25 and tried mdma/X for the first time a few months ago. The experience was amazing to say the least. I had never felt anything remotely to close to those few hours previously in my life.

I ended up rolling on 10 other occasions over the next few months. On the fourth occasion I didn't roll as hard as normal and ended up getting a headache. When I got home I felt fine besides the headache, just a bit tired. After being home for about 20 minutes or so I became extremely nauseous and felt like I was gonna pass out. My first thought was maybe my blood sugar was low cause I hadn't eaten much the entire day. I tried to eat something but i just couldn't. My roommate was there and he sat with me, I felt extremely ill and was about to go to the hospital. My roommate suggested sitting outside for a bit to see if the fresh air could help. I sat outside with him, the fresh air helped a little but I still felt pretty sick, something I had never experienced before. I had experienced bad comedowns prior to this, but this was something completely different.

Eventually I was able to eat a few scoops of ice cream, drank some water and lied down to go to sleep. At this point I still felt pretty ill, but I thought it may just because I got no sleep the night before either. I passed out instantly.

I woke up about 5 hours later and felt pretty much fine. Actually I felt prett normal, not sick at all.

Now a month passes and everything is well. Over the next little while, people start commenting on how I look different. Like my face is sunken. I basically shrug it off. Over the next few months, more and more people all unrelated to each other comment on how I look very skinny. People ask me how I lost so much weight, am I sick etc.. I get concerned and when I look in the mirror i dont notice much of a difference, so i chalk it up to weight loss. I eventually go weigh myself and the scale says that I weigh the exact same I always have been for the last 5 years. I look at my body and it looks the same.

Then i decided to take a picture of my face and compare it ones I had prior to the drug use. What I saw when I compared the pictures completely shocked me.
I looked at the new pictures and my temples, cheeks and eyes had all sunken in. My whole face looked like a different shape. If you were to look at just the pictures you would surely think that I had lost 20-30 pounds. Thats how drastic the change is.

I'm not sure if this one night had anything positively to do with it, all I know is the changes started after it.
The pills were all from the same dealer a friend has been going to for years and everyone else who has been taking them are fine. The pills were never tested tho. I also seemed to have a higher tolerance then everyone else which was weird cause I have never used drugs or antidepressants before. I initially only needed 1 pill to roll, but eventually needed 2 at once to roll. Pretty sure the batch had gotten weaker over time as well tho.

I searched everywhere on the net for something similar to this and cant find anything related to this. Honestly it looks like I have lipodystrophy of the face, similar to what HIV meds cause. My temples, cheeks (below the zygoma) and undereyes have gone concave. My zygomatic arch has become  very prominent.

I have read that Rhabdomylosis is common with MDMA. That is the only answer that I can come up with here. Possible my muscles of mastication atrophied, but this doesnt really make sense either because it looks like I have lost fat from all over my face, much more like lipodystrophy.

I have blood tests for basically everything possible, everything came back normal. I have seen many doctors and they tell me it must just be age related volume loss. I can guarantee you that its not age related volume loss because everything occurred over that one month after that event where I got sick. Ive even gotten an MRI and that was normal. They said no atrophy was visible, but is it possible to see atrophy without a baseline image?

I dont know what to do anymore, I have become extremely depressed and am on antidepressants for severe depression and benzos for panic attacks. Every doctor I see just thinks im a nut that needs more meds.

Im turning to this board for some insight/help/advice because I don't know what else to do. Ive developed major depression from this and get suicidal thoughts constantly. Im hoping someone here can help me figure out what happened and possibly reverse this, even though I know its highly unlikely. I am otherwise in good health, everything is in working order. One other change that has occurred is that I used to have extremely oily skin on my face along with my hair, now the oil has COMPLETY dried up. It has now been over 7 months since this occured and my face had not returned to normal, I actually think is sinking in more, but cant confirm it 100%. I can tell you it has not gotten any better even though I have not drank, smoke or popped at all. By the way im not a smoker of weed or cigarettes in general.

My face seems to be the only area affected which is very strange. I don't know if anyone has heard of anything like this before on this board, but I would really appreciate any help/advice!!

I took DXM, Shrooms, LSD, Marijuana,MDMA, and Drank for more or less 15 years. Despite how much weight I had on my body, and believe me I was REALLY chunky for about 5 years, my face was looked like the grim reaper, always getting worse. Especially my eyes and my cheeks were hollowed out. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. And even though I went off many of my drugs for a couple of years at a time, except DXM and drinking, I never got any better.
Finally, I simply quite ALL drugs altogether, including Marijuana. Its been 4 1/2 years now, with only one backslide where I tripped DXM twice and almost died. My face is back to normal. I believe it took 2 or three years with no drugs whatsoever to actually get back to that point.

A Little insight,
I believe its a combination of two different things,
not only the actual chemical effects of taking the drugs themselves,
but also a weird "Stress" effect mentally that goes along with psychedelic drugs.
And while you might not FEEL stressed,
Trust me, subconsciously, you are.

You may never get back to that physical self that you were before you started,
But you CAN lose a lot of the negative effects,
You just have to stop using EVERYTHING for a couple of years.
You should go back to being more or less your old self.

And the posters here are absolutely correct,
NEVER be afraid to go to the Doctor for help.
About ANYTHING, no matter how small YOU may think it is.
You are not a medical professional and never know if there might be something worse.
At best they tell you your going to be ok and then problem solved,
At worst they tell you that you might need some treatment, in which case it's good you went and found out so you can start.
Their is literally no downside to Medical professional help.

Hope this helps anyone out there.
Stay Strong.

Hi Guys. I was recently on mdma out clubbing. When I got home to my friends place I had some cones and passed the f out.

I woke up in the morning and went to the mirror and I kid you not I looked completely different.

This was the scariest experience off my life. The weeks after I felt extremely depressed and suicidal.

It affected the alignment off my whole body. My neck was out of line. Every thing.

I did hours off research and have found the cause off all your problems.

While on MDMA teeth grinding and jaw clenching is very common. When you fall asleep you have no control over the grinding and clenching. This in turn causes your teeth to be pulled inwards due to clenching. This then gives the external appearance off the cheeks being sunken in.

It’s known as bruxism.

I’m hoping there’s a solution because it has for lack of a better term ruined my life. So self conscious now because off this. Mdma is the drug off the devil.

Hi Im so glad that there's others in the same boat I took ecstasy for 9 years and gave up I looked like I was 28 even though I was 41 I stopped and my face aged over night all the baby fat gone and had a flat face I lost my youth and beauty I didn't know what it was as it happened almost overnight I too was vomiting couldn't hardly move had a bad headache but it was after I gave up a couple of moths later.I didn't know at the time it was the ecstasy I started taking it again 6 months later anyway over the last 5 months iv been cutting down slowly and gave up for 2 months then I suddenly started feeling  depressed and noticed I looked older after taking selfies I took some the other day and guess what my face looked alot younger more puffed out and youthful this was the day after.so I think there is definitely something in this and I hope there's something I can do but it's bad enough being depressed withdrawing then I lose my looks on top.

WHat are the components of ecstasy? Is it a speed? Because speed will distort your thought process. Also, the way you worded it, it sounds like ecstasy is the fountain of youth. I wouldn't mind looking 28 when I was actually 41.

Im going through the exact same thing and i have no idea what to do. Ive been putting all kinds of things on my face so that i look like before but its just been getting worse. I havent rolled in quite some time but when i did 7-8 months back i did way too much of it . I havent lost any weight on the scale but i get the same . My face is sunken so much . My face has lost the charm and i look aged though im in my 20's . Id suggest drink alot of water and fruits . Eat and get yourself to gain weight so that your face recovers . And please do keep me informed if you come up with solutions .

WOw, thats really strange.  I've never heard of anything like that.  There is a forum on this Med help site called undiagnosed symptoms.  maybe you could post it there.  I know you've seen a lot of doctors but i wouldn't give up.  You know if something is wrong with your body.  Don't stop till you find a doctor who will help you.

Did you look up all the different types of ingredients that X can or is cut with. I know people who would cut coke w some real effed up $hit so i will assume people will do it w X too. After u learn the different things it cut with then research what they could do if ingested.  or look up X horror stories.  Did you try the ask a doctor forum?
