Yes, getting checked for Vaginal Atrophy would be a good idea. If your birth control pills were the cause then having stopped taking them may take a while for the meds to clear out of your system, especially if you had been taking them a long time.
As far as Vaginal Atrophy going away, I am still trying to figure out if there is a natural way to heal it. So far most women have to take / use estrogen cream BUT that is usually women that have already gone through menapause. I do not know about your age bracket having the problem though I do have a friend in her late twenties that went through early menapause. If I do find any helpful answers I will update here.
There are 2 oils I have found for lubrication that do not burn they are coconut oil and avacado oil.
I wish all of you the best. If I find a natural healing method that works real well I will post back.
I'm 25.
I read a little about lichen sclerosis and it talked about white patches on the skin, which I don't have. I also had a biospy done by my gynecologist a few months ago and the results were normal. Could it still be LS?
Hello,
You have not mentioned your age but lichen sclerosis should be ruled out. It is a non-infectious inflammatory skin disorder which affects the vulval and perianal skin. Symptoms include itchy, sore and inflamed vulval skin which cracks, causing additional pain and stinging and treated with a strong steroid cream.
I suggest you to get evaluated for this possibility form your gynecologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing
