I know this is an old thread, but in case others come across this, I thought I'd share my experiences on this front.
I don't know if others experience this, but I have the most trouble with dizziness when sitting. I'm a software developer and I suspect after years of sitting hunched over coding I've just exasperated the situation w/ my Chiari 1 Malformation to the point where sitting for too long diminishes CSF flow just enough to make me feel light headed and dizzy.
When I start to feel light headed or dizzy, I push away from my desk and take a walk until the light headed or dizzy feeling passes.
It's becoming a real pain.
And yes, sometimes I have fits of light headedness or dizziness when up and walking, but much more so, something about my posture when sitting at my desk really makes it worse.
Hope things resolved alright for you.
I feel dizzy all the time too. If I shift my eyes from side to side it's like I get an even worse rush or zap of dizziness in my head. So hard to describe symptoms sometimes. Makes me feel nausea s too, like I'm sea sick.
I'm also right there with you on feeling awful and being grumpy. At least your wife tries to understand. My so called support system either doesn't believe or could care less. Lol
Hang in there!
Yes, yes, these are not stupid questions...we have had children that can not express themselves reported to get very angry and just not themselves...
Chiari affects everything...emotional (moods) and physical...so, it can be diff to have a new experience and even tho not all things we may experience may be Chiari itself, it can be traced back to having it as a root issue.
I used to get the nausea and dizziness too....it can be so very frustrating....have u tried the non drowsy formula of Dramamine? It may help with the dizziness...worth a try.
Hello Mike709,
I used to fell dizzy anytime I walked or sitting sometimes. I had balance problems for a few years.I never had the nausea or mood swings. Once surgery I don't have them anymore.
