Febrile Seizures and Tics

My daughter was diagnosed with febrile seizures at one week old. She took phenobarbitol until about six months old when she out grew the dosage and no longer displayed symptoms. She is now almost ten years old and has not had a seizure since infancy. However, within the past year she has started displaying frequent motor tics and recently vocal tics. Her motor tics started with blinking/rolling her eyes. They have progressed to neck shrugs and hand twists. Lately, she makes a "un" gutteral sound. The vocal tics are occuring as often as 1-2 times a minute. Is there any connection between her early seizures and tics?

I was diagnosed with febrile seizures when i was about one week old too. I developed tourettes when i was 4 years old and i am now 29. Im actually starting to think that, it is this medication phenobarbital which caused my tourettes from the beginning. None of my patent or grand parentes has tics or tourettes. Im looking into it and i have found ar least two studies that strenghtens my cause.
