Follow up question

Hi Doctors,
I wonder if you could offer me some further advice.  Since my last question to Dr Hansfield I have been happily getting on with my life as advised.  As Dr Hansfield predicted all my test results did come back negative, including 2 separate negative blood tests for hsv 1 & 2.  As herpes had been my main worry, these completely negative results really set my mind at ease.  Anyway my only "symptoms" I've had for the last few weeks have been a slightly irritated penis tip (meatus), and after urination I'm now having to 'milk the urethra' to get all the urine out.  I accepted that these were just an after-effect of all the testing/swabbing/anxiety I've been having over the past 3-4 months.  For the last week I have been taking uva ursi capsules in an attempt to rid myself of the irritation on the tip of my penis which is uncomfortable rather than painful.  Last night I went out for a few beers.  This morning I urinated as soon as I got up, afterwards I felt I still needed a pee so I went to the toilet again.  This time after I urinated I had a clear white discharge from my penis, the texture was liquidy like urine rather than sticky like semen.  I've not noticed discharge like this before. Just for information I have not had ejculated for approx 2-3 weeks also.  Other than sex with my wife I have not had sex with anyone else in the last 3 months.  My questions are as follows:
-should I be worried this may be std related ie. like NGU?
-would NGU have been tested at the GUM clinic, I never saw it listed on the testing card
-should I just wait and see if I have any discharge again, or should I go to my GP regarding this?
As I said I thought I was over all of this, and this white discharge this morning has got me worried again.

Hello,
Thank you for your post and welcome to our forum.  I will answer each of your questions here below:
-should I be worried this may be std related ie. like NGU?
UNLIKELY TO BE AN STD AS YOU HAVE TESTED NEGATIVE FOR ALL
-would NGU have been tested at the GUM clinic, I never saw it listed on the testing card
NGU OR NSU IS USUALLY TESTED IN MOST STD SCREENING BY USING A MICROBIOLOGICAL SWAB OF THE URETHRA.  IT CAN BE CAUSED BY MYCOPLASMA, UREAPLASMA, AND MANY OTHER BACTERIA, SOMETIMES NON-PATHOGENIC AND NOT ALWAYS NECESSARILY SEXUALLY TRASNMITTED.
-should I just wait and see if I have any discharge again, or should I go to my GP regarding this? I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU WAIT AND CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR IF IT PERSISTS.  IT MIGHT BE PRECUM, OR EVEN SEMINAL OR PROSTATIC FLUID DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU HAD NOT EJACULATED FOR SOME TIME.  I AM SURE THAT IT IS NOTHIG SERIOUS TO WORRY ABOUT
Best wishes,
Dr José

Thanks dr Jose. A couple of further questions if I may. 1) I remember I had a urethral swab done at the gum clinic both 12 and 25 days after possible exposure, when I went back they mentioned something about my white cell count being fine. Does this sound like this would have picked up NSU/ NGU and would be of sufficient time scale to detect it - sorry I know this might be difficult for you to answer as you didn't do the test.
2) can you advise any kind of strategy/cream to deal with irritated penis tip, I've had it for 3 months now and it is not going away. I've tried hydrocortisone cream and emollient cream but neither seems to make any difference, I'm kind of thinking I need to go to my GP about this. Sorry for the further questions I won't ask any more.
