HELP,

My husband and I want to have a baby but i cant seen to get pregnant. In 2011 i had an abortion of choice. I got on the depo shot and was taking it every 3 months. While one the depo i had my period on and off sometimes for a month sometimes a day or three. and sometimes not at all. I got off the depo and got on the pill. After about three months my husband and I talked about having a baby it has now been two years and i haven't got pregnant. I thought and keep track of my period and i have. I tried having sex on the days i was suppose to be ovulating. Still NOTHING. We want a baby really bad. My period now is out of wack. WE NEED HELP. I ovulate and his sperm is fine. It's just not happening.

Sincerely,

Married Couple who wants a baby

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI!
If you were my patient, I would encourage you to use ovulation predictors to time intercourse, as it sounds like you have been doing.  I would also suggest a progesterone level on cycle day 21 to confirm ovulation.  I would encourage you to double check his semen analysis.  One place to start is with SpermCheck which is available on line.
IF ovulation and semen parameters are both normal, the next step is an hsg which is a dye study of the uterus and fallopian tubes to determine whether there is any blockage of the tubes.  If the tubes are blocked that takes you down one path, if they are OK down another.
I would encourage you to get a consultation with a specialist in reproductive endocrinology at that point,
Good luck!
