Hi. I am 7 weeks prrgnant and have PCOS. I am very nervous about losing my baby. I have heard from many people that the chance of miscarriage is very high with PCOS. I need advive to help prevent that. Thanks.

I'm 30 yrs old found out the first week of Nov.I was pregnant I'm now 12 wks diagnosed with pcos when I was 15 and told I would never be able to have children I was super scared and nervous but after the first apt with the Dr I'm worry free and just pray and have faith because I feel this is a true miracle and blessing from God. If its ment to be then its ment to be stressing is the worst for u and the baby the Dr tells me that all the time...

(refeering to the dr comment) My dr didnt check any of those things. They said as long as as i was showing no signs of danger there was no reason to keep checking as they can't do anything to stop it anyway. Sometimes the body will just work and sometimes it wont.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that while it is true that women with PCOS have a somewhat higher risk of miscarriage than women without, the overall risk is small.  If you were my patient, I would recommend that we do an ultrasound approximately once per week and check progesterone levels periodically.  If your levels were low, we could supplement.  If you managed to get pregnant in spite of PCOS your chances of having a healthy baby are quite good.
Good luck!

Unfortunately nothing can be done to prevent it. However stressing out is not good for you. Just breathe, relax and remain calm. I have pcos too and had a chemical pregnancy first time meaning i had positive results but the egg did not implant. Then a month later was pregnant again. Took a long time to get excited. I am now 33w2d. No problems. Just hang in there.
