How often can you get Braxton hicks?

I can never tell if I braxton hicks or contraction. Nd I'm 38w6days. It gets real intense but it goes away.

I've had them every 5 mins at times, but then they go away. My doctor said if they get painful, last more than 1 hour, and don't go away no matter what I do, then it's time to come in. My braxton hicks do cause a lot of pressure but not pain so much. If you are not sure, call your provider or hospital.
