Excessive Mucous Production & Toothpaste

For the past 6 months I have been attributing chronic nasal congestion, excessive mucous production, constant throat clearing and allergic shiners to the LA smog. Last week I had a frightening experience early in the morning where My throat suddenly produced a ton of mucous and I felt like I was choking to death or going into anaphylactic shock. I questioned everything I had eaten which wasnt much of anything because it was before breakfast....but I had just brushed my teeth.  I decided to go off  Crest regular toothpaste  and brush my teeth with a little bit of baking soda and floss as usual.  Within 4 days my allergic shiners are gone, I am no longer clearing my throat constantly and my nasal congestion and chronic cough have vanished.  And, I am still in LA so it isn't the air quality!  It feels great not to spend the morning gagging and throat clearing. Good bye toothpaste for good!  Check out what others are saying about toothpaste!

I realize this is an old post but I'll just say that I've suspected flouride in toothpaste to be the culprit for my needing to clear my throat.  So I've stopped that.  A related experience:  I had insomnia for 10 nights, anxiety, trouble swallowing, high squeaky voice before realizing I was having an allergic reaction to Trader Joes Fennel toothpaste.  One of the ingredients was sodium cocoyl glutamate.  Close enough to monosodium glutamate for my body to react to it. I think they are still using it!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, sometimes the irritants in the toothpaste can cause excess production of mucous and the excessive phlegm production. If it’s due to the toothpaste the symptoms should not change according to weather conditions, as you will be using it year around. Either way if you have achieved a cure, it’s worth the change. Good luck and keep tracking. Regards.
