update

So I got a call last night asking if we were available to move up Cadence's ENT appointment. I jumped at the opportunity. We got there this afternoon and talked to the nurse practitioner and she wanted to recommend a sleep study. She wanted to run by the doctor first. He told her that if possible, he wanted to send a probe and check out her vocal box and see what is going on considering her age. We just had to wait til he was out of the ICU running rounds. An hour late he did a probe. It was awesome to watch. Her tonsils are a bit large and there is a slight amount of flapping skin on the vocal chords. There is also a bit of inflammation just above it. That's a good thing. We will next do a sleep study. Hopefully they can get us in during the next 2 weeks or so. That way we can see what is going on when she is sleeping. She may have to get her tonsils out (which only happens maybe 3 times a year with this specialist with kids under 1), or it could be something more serious where they have to tie off a part of her esophagus down by her stomach, or we could just wait it out. We'll get the results of the sleep study about a week after we do it so we will check back then with the Dr. There's the latest update-hoping and praying for the best possible results.

I am so relieved for you and baby. Praying they find the problem and fix it. My tonsil were huge as a baby and caused breathing problem and didnt remove them ( my mom was a bit weird about surgery ) hope the sleep study goes well. :)

A bit. I think I am just so grateful that we are moving forward on these concerns. I've had them for so long and complained about them for so long.....and finally getting somewhere, ya know?

That's great that you were able to get in sooner. It sounds like you have a lot more peace of mind already.
