bleeding

So I stopped bleeding at 3 weeks pp, I'm now 6 weeks pp and I'm having little bits of brown blood. I'm breastfeeding. Does anyone know what it could be? Am I just starting my period maybe? If I am is it safe to start using tampons? Any thoughts would be appreciated! :)

I did that on and off around that time for about 3-4 weeks and haven't since and my son is 6 mths. I figure I will start my period soon though. I don't know about tampons as I don't use them so I can't help you there. Sorry.
