Lightning bolt sensation to the front of my left thigh

I was ran into by a student in my classroom  on the left side of my body.  The following morning I started getting these lightning bolt sensations to the front of my left thigh.  They are so sharp in pain and come so random that it surprises me and I usually yell out in pain and it doubles me over and I grab my thigh.  Makes it real hard to teach when this happens 10 times or more within an hr. I did go to a chiropractor and after about 5 sessions the lightning bolt sensations went away but once a week or so I still have a sensation in the area that reminds me it is still there. I was told it may be my sciatic nerve.  I have been doing some light exercise and stretching.  Do you have any suggestions.
