Arachnoid cyst

My son 8yrs has gross and fine motor skill problems (hand writing, riding bikes, running and walking), bilateral coordination, Visual perception, and motor planing. Has always complained of head aches but I always thought your a kid u don't know what a head ach is. He is a very emotional kid, takes everything to heart and thinks everyone is against him but saying that his got a great personality and is very carrying of others sometimes to caring when it comes to mean kids. So I Tyler to a Ent when he was 5 as he suffered with tonsillitis a lot and I believe he can hear but can't tell where the sound is coming from. The ENT said do more sports everything will get better so Tyler does a lot of sports (swimming, NRL, touch football, cricket, motorbike riding). Tyler is now in year 2, the last 3 teachers Tyler has had have all suggest him to see an OT which he does but not getting better. I new there was something wrong with Tyler as I work in child care and don't believe kids are like this unless they have a reason like a disease. So I pushed and pushed and one doctor listened she sent tyler for a MIR which they found a large brain lesion 4.7x3.8x2.7cm  most likely a arachnoid cyst. We see the surgeon on the 16.04.15
I'm really scared and just not sure what I should be asking or pushing for! It took me 3yrs to find the actual problem what happens if they say it's not the cause of his problems

Find a holistic chiropractor.
Cranial bones could be out of alignment. Sphenoid and occipital bones can make a tremendous difference when out of alignment

Good. I hope the surgeon is helpful. If not, get another opinion.  Since films are on CDs, easier to send them around.

Arachnoid cysts are likely present from birth but may be grow later in life. The problems, from what I understand (as a patient) are from mass effect issues as the pressure of the cyst pushing on whatever, can cause issues.

As for it not being the problem... that is dependent on where the cyst is pushing. I hope the surgeon is a better resource for you. Just remember you cannot just drain, it has to be removed in part or whole so it does not refill.

Get copies, and stay on top of it. Post back when you know more.
