The midwives told me a breastfed baby can go up to a week without pooing and its a good thing cos their bodies are using all the nutrients. .
Thanku ladies will definitely try the massaging

Mine is a strainer as well!  Grunts and groans alot. He gets it out eventually.  Try bicycling the legs and you can YouTube massages to help. They are still learning which muscles do what what and will eventually figure out how to pass gas much easier.

Idk about the straining, but I have noticed that my baby poops more when I bottle feed her. I am breastfeeding her but some days when I don't pump at all I notice she has fewer bowel movements. When I begin to worry about constipation I will pump a bottle or two and give them to her warm. The warm breast milk seems to do the trick. She usually poops with ease within a few hours. She's 16 days old.
