Texas Rae is here!

Finally it's my turn for a birth story! I came to the hospital at 40+1 weeks to get induced. I was hoping to go naturally but my girl wasnt having it. So in for the induction I went at 7am. Started pitocin at 7:30am and was having some mild contractions and was still only 2cm and baby was still up high. I had heard horror stories about the contractions you can get wend induced so at this point i was thinking, i can totally do this without pain meds (which is what i wanted)...at 8:00 in walks dr to break my water...still at 2 cm and thats were labor went to hell in a hand basket...i usually have a really high pain tolerance so thats how i know that it was terrible...after my water broke things went incredibly quick with contractions comming stronger and quicker than they would have naturally. ..i managed to make it till 10:00am an 6 cm before i finally broke down and got an epidural. ..and boy am i glad i did. I could still feel when i was contracting but i was able to breath and relax for when i needed to push. At 3:48pm we started pushing, even with the epidural i still had the sensation to push when i needed to i was still able to set the pace that was best for me, tho with contractions so close together it was still quick. I pushed for 1 hour and 10 minutes and the moment she passed was the best feeling in the world. She came out crying and wanting to cuddle. ..she was born at 4:57pm on July 1, 7lbs 8oz & 20in. My husband and I are in absolute love with her. Even tho things didnt go the ideal way i wouldnt have traded it cuz it could have gone alot worse.
