constipated newborn

hi i am new mom to a 1 week 5day old newborn she was born with a tongue tie so she doesn't latch on correctly. So i pump and feed her that way only i don't feel like im producing enough breast milk so i use formula. similac advance to be exact. Now she's gassy and fussy and constipated. i stopped with the similac and tried only breast milk but i dont have enough and was afraid she wasn't getting enough to eat. What should i do change her formula to something else. Going a little crazy here with non stop crying baby

When you're using formula, babies poop much less often. My pediatrician said they can go up to 5 days without pooping if you're on formula. My baby was super fussy and gas drops have changed that dramatically so you might want to try that!

You are not doing anything wrong. I am in the same boat. I am using Similac Supplament for the 8-10 oz of formula she gets everyday. Otherwise she is on BM. I too am tryi by to figure out when to pump while taking care of a newborn. I also feel like I need  more arms to get it all done. My.pediatrician told me not to worry about the poo unless she became uncomfortable (legs consistently drawn up while screaming). We also found that gripe water works better for our little one over gas drops. Again our pediatrician recommend we try both gripe water and gas drops to see which she would respond to. The gripe.water has been great for hiccups and general fussing

Day time she's doing alright. Once night time hit. All she seem to do is cry doesn't sleep long at all. Im more exhausted and tired because I've been in the house with her all day. Just feel like I'm doing something wrong

My suggestion is to pump pump pump and if possible try and breast feed or practice latching on.. Its not easy and often I want to give up but in the end its well worth it and babys love the bonding time and breast milk. Drink mother's milk tea that helped along with water throughout your day.

I'm in the exact same situation you should try a different formula and just keep pumping as much as possible I believe the more you pump the more you will produce. How much do you usually get when you pump?
